Dear Dr. Jacobs,

I'm finally pregnant after my 9th cycle. My betas initially looked to be rising well but the last one has me worried. Please give me your input.

6dp5dt: 13
8dp5dt: 52
9dp5dt: 148 (Note: 36 hrs. between tests)
11dp5dt: 328 (Note: 49 hrs. between tests)
15dp5dt: 927 (Note: 80 hrs. between tests)

There is a little variation in the number of hrs. between tests since I was in the hospital for several days with a fever and non-stop headache (turned out to be severe sinus infection).

Needless to say, I'm worried the illness was too much on the embryos.

Thanks for your opinion of these betas.

Staci

Your hospitalization is not likely to have effected your pregnancy.
Good luck.

All we can do is wait. There are a number of possible reasons for light bleeding, and only one is really bad. It is possible that more than 1 embryo implanted, and started to grow, but 1 is not going to make it. If that is the case, the remaining one(s) should be fine. Until about 6 weeks of pregnancy, you cannot really tell much using ultrasound.
Good luck.
