clomid and thin lining

Hi DR.,

I just had a laparscopy and had endometriosus removed from both ovaries. Next cyle the protocol my RE has selected includes clomid 50 mg twice a day 5-9,
FSH injections everyother day (i forget which days exactly but it is four). Check estradiol levels (i think :( ) before hCG trigger then IUI. I am concerned about the use of clomid thinning my lining. Are the FSH injections not enough to stimulate follicle development for IUI. Why do some RE still use it? Is there something else to use? Can they check the lining thickness with the transvaginal ultra sound? Would you question it our ask for something else? As you know the process isn't cheap so i don't want any unnecessary problems. Thanks so much for your time and consideration

At one of the schools I was on faculty, we tried that protocol and abandoned it. Pregnancy rates were no better than Clomid, alone. You get good follicle growth, but you still havee the disadvantages of Clomid. I use straight FSH.
Good luck.
