Hi Dr. Jacobs:
I just had my first beta test result last tue, it was at 124, on thur it rose to 305. This is my third IVF cycle, and I am very excited...

However, I read something about blighted ovum, if my HCG continues to double every 48 hours until the 1st ultrasound is due to check for heartbeat, I would probably be okay in terms of a real baby developing inside my body?

I know if one has a blighted ovum, the HCG will taper off and begin to decrease. When does that normally happens?

In a normal pregnancy the hCG will at least double for the first 8 to 10 weeks.
Congratulations!
