After battling bacterial vaginosis for over a year and trying Flagyl and Metro with pretty much no luck, I finally got rid of BV with acidophilus supplements. I am now taking Macrobid for recurrant UTI's (due to pregnancy....I am now 17weeks) Praise be to God!!!
I was wondering.....since the usual antibiotics haven't worked. Would the Macrobid help to keep the BV from returning and if it does return will the Macrobid help to treat the BV?

I doubt that the Macrobid will do much for your vaginosis. The organism most commonly responsible, Gardnerella vaginalis, can be carried in the male urethra, without causing symptoms. If your husband was not treated at the same time youwere, I would expect you to become reinfected.
