Ashermans/Estrogen administration

Hi
Thank you for your reply regarding a hysteroscopy procedure to determine interuterine scar tissue. I do really, really appreciate it.

In your post to my questions you stated that you prefer to have my endometrium stimulated by estrogen after the procedure.
My procedure was this past Tuesday and to remove the balloon stint will be next Tuesday.
When do you typically start the patient on the estrogen regiment, after the balloon stint has been removed?

How long do you have the estrogen administered?

and

what is the purpose of the estrogen?

Would you also do progesterone after the estrogen, and if not, what would be your thinking in those terms?

Many thanks again.

Brenda

I start estrogen the evening after surgery. Estrogen stimulates growth of the endometrium. Progesterone is a natural estrogen antagonist. I have no data to determine how long to continue the estrogen, but I suggest 2 weeks. It tahes a few days for cells to start making new protein in response to estrogen.
Good luck.
