Dear Dr. Jacobs:
Hello - How are you doing? I am 30.5 years old and 10 weeks pregnant through IVF/ICSI. My RE had mentioned to me that I was not at any risk for Down Syndrome. In passing, my OB mentioned that I had the option of taking the 11-14 week Nuchal fold/Integrated Screening panel test. I was wondering if it is okay to undergo this test - Hopefully, it would not affect my pregnancy as this one is really important for me. Your valuable thoughts as always is appreciated.

Thanks.

Since you are under the age of 35, you are not at INCREASED risk for a child with an abnormal number of chromosomes. The most common one is "Downs syndrome". Doing an ultrasound will not hurt, but I do question the economic value.
Good luck.
