pregnancy induced hypertension and factor V leiden

Hello everyone,

It is so nice to see that there is somewhere i can come and find info related to myself.

Here goes: I am 28 years old and this past july lost my 1st pregnancy. Everything was fine until 18 weeks, my blood pressure increased (no history of hypertension)and i was started on blood pressure meds and watched closely. As per the OB and Cardiologist I r/o for pre-eclampsia no protein in my urine or other s/s of pre-eclampsia except the increase BP. My pregnancy ended with a stillbirth at 20wks. This was the worst time of my life (not sure if I have recovered yet). But believe I am ready to try again.

I followed up with a hematologist who determined after multiple test I have factor V Leiden and probably threw a clot which ended my pregnancy cutting off circulation to my baby. He also believed this contributed to my hypertension. Yet today almost 6 months later my BP has still been elevated.

Has anyone experience anything like this with factor v, increased hypertension? And were you sucessful with another pregancy while taking Lovenox as recommended to me now for the future, and a Blood pressure medication together? How is your child today if so? Of course reading and listening to others I am very afraid that if I carry to term under these conditions my child may have various health issues.

Is there anything that can be recommened to start doing prior to getting pregnant again? I have read that exercise and grape juice along with the vitamins are helpful any thoughts?

Very sad and scared.
Bella
