I am 6 weeks pregnant and was put on Lovenox injections a couple weeks ago. I have to do the shot once a day, take a baby asprin, and extra Folate. My husband and I are concerned about the air bubble that is in the pre-filled shots. It hurts badly, and we are worried that we might go into a vein on accident. I am scared. Any help would be great.

Nicole - well the air bubble is NOT dangerous at ALL! the whole air bubble in the blood steam has been over exagerated. The harmful air bubbles would have to be very large (like more than the whole syringe would hold) and would have to go intact as one bubble straight through to your heart, so please don't worry about any danger in the bubble, secondly the pain of injecting the bubble, the lovenox itself hurts so if you can really tell the difference between the two whay I do is.... I try to make sure the bubble goes in first, I don't know if it really feel any different but to me it seems better than it going in last. try this hope it helps. good luck.

everyone else that I have been listing my concerns to... I went for my 1st trimester screening on tues, everything looks great! the baby is even measuring a few days to even a week bigger than they ecpected. the downs probability went down to 1 in 4,000 and trisomie 18 down to 1in 10,000. i'm very pleased. the baby has two of everything hands, legs, feet, brain hemespheres, eyes, the stomach is visable as well as the liver, the heart rate is 150. I'm so happy I'm actually starting to tell a few select friends. thanks for the good info. i'll fill you in w/ more when i know more. ohh, on tues i was 13w1d.

mickey- yea! yea! yea! so glad to hear everything looks great!! what a relief for you! spread the news! I know in the back of your mind its always scary because we all know were high risk and something could still go wrong- but really this is such good news and hopefully most of the worst symptoms and fears are behind us!! Im 15 weeks tomorrow and so far have only had 1 u/s. Im hoping they do one again when I go in on tuesday. Im not really showing yet at all, so I kinda get freaked out when people imply I should be. so Id just like the extra peace of mind!

nichole- yes- the air bubble is totally harmless when youre injecting subcutaneously. but after a couple weeks of being on the shots, and after reading some posts a few pages back, I started injecting most of the air out of the syringe before I gave myself the shot. I felt like it maybe lessed the sting just a little bit- but its true that it hurts no matter what, and some days and some injection sites are just gonna be worse than others. good luck- and you can always ask your Dr. or pharmacist next time youre in to know for sure.

thanks for all the responses about lovenox prices and for rooting me on my weightloss journey!! down 55lbs! and still going! i just want to be healthy and give my future pregnancy the best shot that i can, and i know being overweight doesnt help the whole clotting issue. its hard though cause a part of me just wants to start TTC now, but i know its not whats best for me or a new baby. i still think about my son and how i wish he was here right now, so i know im still grieving my loss and me having another kid right now isnt going to help me get over my loss. so i will continue to push myself to get healthier and next spring ill need all of you to blow some babydust my way. :) congrats on all the pregnancy and i wish you all the best of luck!

Hi my name is Brandy. I have had 3 m/c and I just found I have MTHFR. My doctor is putting me Lovenox when we start the process of IVF, but first I have to finish the injections of Luepron for endometiosis (I'm not sure if I spelled that right). I am really worried about all of this and I was looking for a little advice.

mickey the website that is the most reasonable and that i heard was good is www.storkradio.com/discounts.php. I know my first high risk pregnancy with my daughter i worried constantly i had 3 m/c before her this pregnancy i didnt worry as much even though i have had 5 m/c all together, however i have severe m/s with this one to the point of a picc line and a home nurse so i figured this sick baby is doing good and im now 12 weeks and i can feel him/her move so i didnt get it this time around but it sure helps lower the stress now you can get the lotion or jelly on the site or you can use ky jelly they both work. I was shocked to feel the baby so early but the dr said since i have been pregnante 7 times my body is probably just more sensitive to it.

Thanks for the web site!!! ;D i forwarded it to dh. I have a feeling that i'll have this "radio" as soon as it can be shipped. dh is so supportive and sensitive. :) the 2m/c in the past were devestaing too him. the house was so quite and then one day I remember looking at his face and I knew how I had let him down. :'( This pg is everything to him. I could call him at work right now and tell him that the baby wants a BMW, and he would say... "well, you better go get one." :P Everyday that I've been sick, tired, emotional, etc. he knows that the baby is healthy. 8) Thanks again.

Has anyone taken Lovenox and not had to induced? I had to be induced with my first child due to the Lovenox and had a horrible experience. My doctor says I have to be induced 2 weeks prior to my due date. Same as before. I would love to hear there may be another option...

Thanks,
Angela

I know what you mean, i have seen alot of marriages fail due to fertility. After my 3 m/c before my daughter i remember telling my husband that he deserved better a woman who could give him kids. It was rock bottom i guess. But he was my rock. We have our litttle girl and one on the way. But in one way or another we have been going through infertility treatments off and on for 5yrs. How far alon were you during your last m/c's? Wait till not only you but your husband can feel that baby move, I remember my husbands eyes the first time and it was like the whole world was smiling on him. However i do feel that when you go through as much as we have to have a child we appreciate life and our children more. Good luck keep me posted

mickey - August 5th, 2007 1:43 PM

bdantonio -
I've been keeping up with this sight for several weeks now and have read many of your posts. I appreciate all the support that you have given me and many of the other girls here. You seem very informed and well versed with many of the scenarios that we are experiencing. I'm sorry that this knowledge had to come through experience.
In the past I carried to week 8 and week 11. I am now 14 weeks tomorrow!! I feel so much more positive about this one! Each day is a new experience. I'm past m/s. So I don't have that to tell me I'm still pg. But the last two days I cry over everything. Yesterday I was hot, I cried and cried, because I was hot. How weird, but it tells me my hormones are outta wack and that tells me the baby is growing.
Are you still real sick? I hope that you start feeling better! this is day 6 with no m/s (except a little at bedtime).
Mickey

Unfortunitly my m/s has not let up the dr says it prolly wont to close to 17 weeks. and im 13 tomorrow so about 5 more weeks. However today i felt more kicks so i know everything is good my danger zone is about over the longest went before a m/c was 10 weeks. I orgonally started on this site due to being on lovenox hower i took myself off it about 2 weeks ago i was not put on it for a blood disorder but due to all my m/c. However i was not reacting very well to it i got a rash severe dizziness and fainted a few times. The dr warned me that if the lovenox was working it could make me lose the baby, however i did not use lovenox with my daughter and i told them that if a medicine made me feel that way my body did not like it and i owuld not put myself at rish i have one child already to think about. But everything is going good and i feel better since i got off it. However if you have anyother questions i maybe able to help with feel free to ask.
