Hey ladies and Gidd,

I'm now in week 26, going for weekly biophysical profiles and the baby looks great! It's a girl and they estimated today that she is already at 2 pounds 10 ounces. I will be induced at week 38 and put on Heparin at week 36. I have limited bruising and bleeding at the injection site still, but nothing too major.

Hey Krista~

Do you usually m/c around the same time? for me the past 8 m/c's have been between 5-6 weeks. Do you usually make past 3 months? If so they should give you a cercloge (probably spelled wrong) but I no they can't do that before like 11-12 weeks, they usually want you to make it out of the 1st trimester!

All I can say is just try not to worry, I no it's easier said than done, but i have been in your shoes, and if I am p/g now when I find out I will be feeling exactly as you are! Have you done any research on the medical condtions you have? I have done so much research it's crazy, I suggest certain things to my RE. When I met with him last week he started talking about my doing IUI's or IVF, I thought that's crazy thats for women who can't get p/g! And not to mention how costly it is! I knew a couple weeks ago with my Dr it was all about the money. Maybe you should try to do some research to see if you should be possible taking a different medication? Have you tryed hepirin injections? I knew of a women and lovenox did'nt work for her so she went on hepirin and had an succesful p/g she took it 2 x a day. And even though you have kids, that is the desire of your heart and you are entilted to have as many kids as you want, What I will say is that if you were unable to have anymore you are truly blessed that you were able to have three. But you will be able to have more just continue to pray and believe...all things are possible through God....Take care...Tiffany~~ ;)

thank you Tiffany for all the support. I am worried. I havent tried Heprin, just Lovenox, and thats it. I always loose the pg before 5 weeks. I have researched different REs but, I got pregnant before I could try a new one. So, it is all up to the big man upstairs.

I was so thankful to stumble onto this forum yesterday. I couldn't tear myself away from reading it all and it has already answered so many of my questions! Thank you all for sharing your couragious stories.

A little about me: I have not been through anything like most of you and am really inspired by all of your courage. I found out I had a lupus anticoagulant 5 years ago after my dr. did a series of blood tests on me. My older sister had a series of mini strokes when she was 30 and I have a cousin who had a stroke at age 25. When they found my clotting factor, I was taken off of estrogen bc and put on depo (something I don't recommend). At the time, I was 26 and focused on grad school. Having kids was in the distant future for me so I didn't think much of it. My dr. said in passing that I would most likely go on blood thinners when I conceived. Again, I didn't really think much of this. I had no idea that I was at such a risk for ms/c.

Now I am 31, happily married and went to my new ob/gyn (just relocated) for my annual 2 days ago. I also wanted to discuss pre-conception counseling since my husband and I are planning on TTC in Nov. I wasn't shocked when she said I would go on a blood thinner but I was shocked when she told me the cost. At this point, I still didn't realize what I was in for with lovenox and the shots. I only heard how expensive it was and I went home in tears wondering how in the world we could afford this med? I didn't understand how our PPO ins. probably wouldn't cover it. (I have read all of your advice on this topic however and will be looking into the options.)

My dr. is also putting me on a baby aspirin before conception and during the 1st trimester. She also gave me a script for a pre-natal. In addition, I will be taking extra folic acid to supplement.

Since my appointment, I have had my eyes opened very wide by this forum and I thank you all so very much! I feel blessed to have all of this knowledge about the shots, expense, and ways to get around those things by all of your experiences and advice. Really, I can't thank you enough. It has been enlightening to say the least and I admire you all for sharing your stories.

One point of info I may be able to offer - a few pages ago, some people were discussing bc options. My husband and I took the natural family planning courses (NFP) when we got married 3 years ago. They were offered through our Catholic church, but there were several couples in the classes that weren't Catholic. Many of them were having trouble conceiving so they took the classes to help chart their cycle and to understand the best time for conception. NFP has been a true blessing for us and is a wonderful and effective form of bc when done properly through taking the classes. The best part for me has been keeping all of the hormones out of my body! :D

I will continue to check in with you all but probably won't have much to contribute until I actually experience the glories of Lovenox for myself.

Thank you!

Rebecca

Hello,

Thanks to all of you who take such time to respond with suc care and concern to all the scared moms out here. It is really wonderful.

I have had 2 m/c I have MTHFR. My due date is 12/4 and my Doc doesn't want to see me till 4/11 which means I can't see the perintal specialist till after that. Perinatal Speicalist told me I would be on Lovenox when I got pregnant. So my question, is 6 1/2 weeks too late to begin Lovenox? Thanks.

serendipityhs - April 1st, 2007 9:04 PM

Hi, I was put on Lovenox when I had my 4th MC. I did not start until I was already 2 weeks pregnant, we didnt now yet. I MC again. I am now Pregnant again, and have been on the Lovenox for 2 months. I dont know if it makes a difference in your case but my peri natologist wanted me on asprin and lovenox prior to concieving because I loose tha baby at time of implantation. I would insist your OB bets you in IMMEDIATLY! If the OB wont, go somewhere else. Its your body and your baby, with a history of MC you shouldnt be on the back burner with them : ) Just my unofficial opinion. I Have just been down the MC road 5 times now, and I hate when OBs dont help when they should.

Hope it helps.
Krista

Krista

That was helpful. I am so asahmed of myself for not even thinking of challenging the Dr's orders as to when to see him. I left a message on the machine at the office. I will make some phone calls in the morning to other docs as plan b in case he won't see me earlier. Thanks!

Dont be ashamed of yourself, be ashamed at the way the medical professionals are now herding us through like cattle, with no regaurd to the fact that we are desperate to bring this little life to term! That is the sad part. Dont let them push you around. This is your life and your little babies life. Be strong : )
If you need me, I am here ; )

Hi,

I also have MTHFR mutation and have had 2 m/c. I started on baby aspirin when I was ovulating and as soon as my pg test was positive I called the doctor and they call me a prescription of Lovenox 40 mg. I was on it at 2 wks of gestation. A week later the doctor saw me to the an u/s and make sure that is viable. Please make sure to see a doctor as soon as possible and if you can find one that has treated other pg with this condition that would be even better. I always m/c at 6 wks so I had to do something very early in the pregnancy. I am now 8 wks 4 days. Every day is a miracle for me!!

I am still on baby aspirin, 2 folgard a day, lovenox and prenatals.

I wish you the best!

I have Lovenox that I am no longer using, I no it does'nt expire until the end of the year, I will sell it to you at a very good price, of course much cheaper then what you are paying for it! I also would love to share some information with you in reguards to getting addtional money off of your prescriptions, you can use this along with your insurance to get discounts on top of your insurance, we pay$400.00 a month and it does not cover infertility meds, but with this Discounted Medical, I saved money on clomid, progesterone etc..my insurance did not cover them. If you would like more information you can go directly to my website www.deliveringonthepromise.com/chinafw
or you can e-mail me at chynnadoll198@yahoo.com, this is for anyone that is interested, they even cover a large precentage of IUI's and IVF, my RE excepts this program, I had no clue. You can go to my website and type in your city and state and it will show you all the providers in your area, as well as Specialists RE's and every other Specialist you can imagine! I have been apart of Shared Journey for along time and I am not trying to sell anything, I am just trying to help women save and there familys save money as my family has. For an entire family that is everyone under your roof even if there not family, it's $49.95 a month, it is a wonderful program! feel free to contact or leave a post..Take Care...Tiffany...PS:the lovenox is 0.6 mg and I will have to check but I no I have at least 2 boxes of ten maybe more, and I also have heprin, I was diagnosed with a clotting disorder, and later found out I did'nt have one so that is why I have the meds!

PS:congrats on your pregnancy...all the best to you and the baby :)

Hi everybody!
Just wanted to let all of you know that i had my baby boy last wednesday!I was induced at 37 weeks because of high blood pressure. He is doing great and having him home with me makes all those shots, appts, and nsts worth it.there was only one problem though...
i had planned since day one of getting an epiderall and switched to heparin at 35 weeks and took my last dose the morning i was induced(monday) and by friday the heparin still had not left my body and they would not let me get a epideral.i guess heparin is only suppossed to stay in your system for 12 hours but for some reason it stayed in mine a lot longer.so no epideral for me!
for all of you out there who are nervous and scared about having healthy preganancies and about taking lovenox, take it from me...you too will be one day holding your baby. good luck to everyone!
Heather

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH congratulations on your baby boy coming home.........you have given me such hope. I am presently trying again after two miscarriages. I keep reading about Folgard...what is that? I am on baby aspirin, folic acid, and prenatal vitamin daily.

donovansmommy - April 3rd, 2007 12:25 PM

Hello everyone!! I am so glad to hear of the healthy babies that have beenborn resently. Congratulations to all!!!

Well I too had my BIG baby boy on March 26. He is doing wonderful! He was 9lbs 3oz and 20 1/2 in. I was induced and tried to have a vaginal delivery but things did not work out that way. I ended up having to have an emergency c-section because the baby heartrate dropped and stayed dropped, but everything worked out for the best. I wouldn't have been able to push 9lbs out of me.

I wish the best to all of you and God Bless!

Trying Again - April 3rd, 2007 1:18 PM

So a c-section is a possibility? I thought someone said you coulnd't do it, or it isn't perferred method?

serendipityhs - April 3rd, 2007 1:20 PM

Not sure what you mean by a c sec being a possibility? Vag birth is always recommended, but in cetain cases csec is waranted.
