Eugmar2002- my ob referred me to a hematologist and he told me I could either be on just baby aspirin or baby aspirin and lovenox at the same time. I opted for both. We plan to try again in January...I felt like two miscarriages in 6 months was too much to handle, mentally and physically. I am just scared that it will not work and I will have to go through this again.

I got a hold of my DR and he said all my reactions are common he also suggested i take the shot at night right before i go to sleep. I iced the spot last night as suggested by a few people on this sight, took my shot and went to bed. I woke up feeling great, well not great but better. Also my dr had said he wanted to induce three weeks early to prevent still birth. Has anyone else been told that?

Hello everyone,

I have to tell everyone that I am going completely insane. This 2wk wait is killing me. I was doing good until last night and I completely lost it, I haven't stopped crying. I got to just laugh at myself because I don't even know anymore what exactly it is I'm crying over!!!! I don't have alot of pg symptons which is why I think I'm driving myself crazy. I am really crampy which is making me think that AF is on her way. Well I have a week more to go.

Anyway does anyone get really bloated from the lovenox injections. I feel like everytime I do an injection my stomach grows!!! I don't know whats worst my ass growing & being brusied from the progesterone injections or my belly. Nothing fits me anymore, and that just makes me cry more!!! Thanks everyone for letting me bitch, just needed to get some of my raging hormones out!!!!

Lots of baby dust to all

Gina

One more thing regarding all those disucussion about testing if the blood is to thin, when I was pg my doctor sent me for a blood test to see if my clotting was in the right range. He told me that I would have to go every month & It had to be done before I gave my shot
in the morining.

Hi Julia,
when i first started taking lovenox, after my first or second inj. i was nausea and vomiting all day too. i called my doctor and he didnt think it was from the inj., i think for me it was just a bad coincidence, because then i was scared to take the shots. but i havent had any problems since.just the usual morning sickness.im 20 weeks pregnant now,and the shots still sting and bruise.just one other thing us pregnant women on lovenox have to deal with... bruised up bellies! i hoped i helped a little and congrats on your baby!

Heather,
thank you so much for the response. I am so happy that you are 20w, i am having a had time connecting emotionally to this pregnancy. I guess my mind just thinks that two blue lines may mean you pregnant but not necessarily that you will have a baby. i really just want an ultrasound so i can feel at least a little better. i know im ranting and it has nothing to do with lovenox but i just really want this baby and i am hoping the lovenox will be my "miracle drug".

Hi Julia,
trust me i know how you feel. I was pregnant back in april and lost my baby girl at 21 weeks due to a bloodclot in the placenta.i got pregnant as soon as i could and now im 5 months already!i know what you mean about being pregnant but meaning that youll have a baby.at my work there are 4 other pregnant girls and everyone is buying clothes and baby stuff, but i want to wait til the very end, because im still scared ill loose this baby too.but lovenox has helped me tremendously, im not having any of the problems i was having in my last preg., like high bloodpressure and low birth weight.so i know its doing a wonder for me and my baby.i m sure it will do the same for you.

Hello Heather,
Thank you for your feedback. I was wondering if I should be going to a specific doctor for blood disorders and miscarriages or is a general hematologist good enough? Also, what is more effective, lovenox in pill form or lovenox injectables? Thanks. Also, anything else you could tell me about lovenox would be very helpful.

Heather,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss in April. Were you on lovenox all ready when that happend? Tomorrow I am having my HCG checked and progesterone, then on Thursday they will re-draw the HCG. As long as those numbers come out fine it will bring me great piece of mind. I am so happy that things are going well for you now. Do you ever stop worrying?

Hello everyone,
i was refered to a maternal fetal specialist,he is my main doctor right now and i also see my obgyn.my bloodwork was abnormal for anticardiolipin and lupus,i got tested after i lost my first baby.they never told me to see a doctor for blood disorders and never mentioned anything about lovenox in a pill form.everything ive heard about lovenox is always a injectable.i always worry, but not as much as in the begining.i see my doctors twice a month and get a ultrasound monthly. me and the baby are doing great so far,im not having any issues,so that makes feel better and gives me hope.
i just feel really lucky to have lovenox, because without it my baby problay wouldnt have a chance.

Hi everyone,
I got my HCG level back today, it was 6840 of course this number wont mean very much until it is drawn again on Thursday to see if it has doubled. That’s all

Julia,

That's a really great number to start with and I will pray that Thursday we see 13680 or higher!! My numbers weren't anywhere near that and I was scared to death...hopefully, this will give you reason for great joy.

Hi all,
I am a newbie, 26 and have experienced 2 miscarraiges. The recent one was this past august in which I was 9 weeks, the first one (2 yrs ago) was 7 weeks. In both instances, I was able to hear my babies heartbeats, but for whatever reason I miscarried both. I was tested a while back and while waiting for the results my husband and I got prego yet agian. (lmp 10/28) I am barley 5 weeks. I got my results back and it turns out I tested postive for antiphospholipid disorder. I have an appt with another dr this monday to discuss treatment. In the meantime they have me taken 1 baby asprin. I was told treatment would be either heparin or lovenox; in reading your posts it has given me some insight as to what this is. As well as making me scared s*i*less, I hate needles. Is there a pill??
I was just wondering a few things, can any of you provide me with some questions to ask the dr? Also, I am on zoloft (anti depressent) I was put on it after my 1st m/c. How does that play a roll, if any? Any insight would be greatful! Also they are monitoring my hcg levels and on monday it was 192, agian I am barley 5 weeks, I went yesterday to get it done agian, and although the lab was open, my dr's office was closed due to weather??? Soooo I am praying that they will be open today so I can see if the have gone up. Is 192 common this early? Or not? Thanks,

Update- I got my results back on Thursday and it went from 192 (monday)to 640 so for being 4 1/2 weeks is this normal?

julia c - December 1st, 2006 11:18 AM

Hi everyone,
Well my numbers did not double. They went from 6840 to just under 10000. It was a 51% increase. My dr. said they like to see a minimum of a 60% increase. I am having an ultrasound this afternoon to see if we can see anything.

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum.

My husband and I plan on trying to conceive later this month. I am currently on Lovenox 40mg daily while also taking 81mg of asprin daily. My question is, my hemotologist told me that I will stop the lovenox a month before my due date, then just take the baby asprin daily. Does this sound right? Just because I have read a few posts with others saying that after they stop lovenox they will start heparin until they deliver. After reading those posts I am kind of concerned about not having enough medication to stop a blood clot from forming. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)
