Hello all.
Just wanted to update everyone on my journey so far this year.
I went to the Dr. yesterday for my annual exam. So we were talking about why I have had such irregular periods and things and she said that she wants to start me off with taking Provera. She said that if need be we will make it a monthly event.
So then we get down to business with the exam. She did the swab and then went on to do the pelvic exam and she was a feelin around up there when I felt a little pain on the right side. I did not say anything just for the fact that this yearly thing is uncomfortable
anyway so I just put it off as an uncomfy feeling. Well she went on to the left side then came back over to the right and asked me if I felt any pain. I told her yes and she then proceeded to tell me it was swollen. So we took blood and I did a urine pregnancy test. Thank goodness is came out negative, as much as I want a positive pg not when it hurts there.
So she is scheduled me for an untrasound on Tuesday next week so we can see what it is.
She said it may be a cyst. So I was went to google and typed in irregular periods and cysts and PCOS popped up. I was reading more on it and with the cyst I had diagnosed a couple of years ago, it sounds like this may be what is wrong with me and why we are not getting pregnant.
What are you alls thoughts on this?

My ovaries have always slightly hurt when I had my annual exams and the doctor never thought too much about it because they weren't significantly large. We have been TTC for about 2-1/2 years now and about a year ago we went to my gyn's infertility clinic where they never diagnosed me with PCOS but never had a good cycle for IUI. I then went to another clinic that specializes in reproduction and the doctor could basically tell I had PCOS from reading my charts! She confirmed it during my saline sonogram and it disappointed me so much the other clinic didn't consider it. Normally the symptoms are obesity and excessive hair loss along with the enlarged ovaries and numerous cyst-like follicles. I am a little overweight and don't have that much excessive hair except for the typical "stach" on my upper lip. hahaha. At any rate, make sure your doctor specializes in reproduction and possibly consult an endocrinologist. Good luck! I am going through my first cycle of IVF right now and all looks good so far. My egg retrieval is on Thursday and implantation the following Tuesday.
