I just found out today that I have mthfr c677t, and I do not know much about it at all. My dr. Told me to take foilic acid pills and if I get preg. Then we would talk about blood thinners. This is very upsetting to me. I have had one live birth and then 3 miscarriages. Does any one have any information for me?

Did you have to go on Lovenox during your pregnancy? I was told I need 2 Lovenox injections a day and when I looked into the cost the generic form is 1000 dollars a month. I went into labor at 33 weeks 5 days with my daughter and spent a month in the NICU. She will be 2 in April as is getting healthier as she gets older. She was only 3lbs 9oz when she was born and was the size of a 27 week old due to growth restriction. I'm worried about having the same thing happen but they assure me the Lovenox will work I'm just scared of the cost. I've read quite a few people only take the baby asprin which I take daily now along with folic acid and b vitamins and have since I was diagnosed in May of 2010. Just looking for more info.

Different Drs have different opinions. I have MTHFR and Prothrombin and I was told lovenox if I got pg again. I didn't know until after 2 pgs. Baby #1 has mild CP probably due to my clotting issues. I had 4 superficial clots post birth. He's doing great now. Very smart, great swimmer, lots of issues with fine motor stuff. 2nd baby total miracle also had undiagnosed GD and she was 11lbs. But petite ever after. They are 12and 14 now. I got a DVT 2 years ago after minor surgery even with a few weeks of lovenox. Oddly enough baby 1 didn't inherit either issue but baby 2 has both :( so no hormones and scary pregnancy issues :(. I'm kind of glad I didn't know because I couldn't have done the IF treatments I needed.
