When will I trigger- first month of injectables

This is the first month starting menopur- we have done several unmedicated IUI's over the last year with no success. I ovulate on my own every month- we added menopur and today was my first scan. I have 3 eggs on the right and one on the left side. The biggest one is 15. Doc said after they get my blood results this afternoon, they will know the next step- does anybody know when I'll likely trigger with HCG? another day or two?

I can tell you from my experience on Repronex, which is very very similar to Metopur.

I would go in for my scans and blood work in the am. Usually by early afternoon I had my results back on the blood work. They told me they look for an E2 level of 200 per mature follicle. So by doing the u/s, measuring the follicles, measuring the lining and the blood work the re would determine if he felt it was time for me to trigger. For me I would tigger on day 12 or 13 and ovulation would occur approx 36 hours later.

Hope this helps

Best of luck to you!

THANKS so much for your response- it's nice to see you are pregnant- congratulations. Today is only day 9 for me- and I usually never trigger until day 12 or later- I was just wondering if I would trigger sooner due to the egg size. I guess I just have to wait to hear from them this afternoon. I've been so nervous doing drugs now- but I haven't had many side effects at all. Just occasional headaches- and the shots have been pretty easy. We will do IUI again too -
Thanks again-

You are very welcome.

I too did not have any side effects on the injections. That is what I loved the most about them. I was on Clomid for one month and that was a nightmare for me. I was miserable with side effects.

I always ovulated on my own but I they determined that I had low estrodiol in the second half of my cycle indicating maybe that I was not have quality ovulations. The injections worked great for me thankfully. I was fortunate to be on them for 2 months when I got my bfp. I believe in the injections and I think they have a huge success rate.

For me they wanted my largest follicle to be 17 or so. When I triggered I had several follicles and the largest was 17 if I am not mistaken. It has been awhile so without going back on my charts I am not 100% sure.

You seem to be doing very well. Hang in there, stay positive and good luck.

Thanks again- you have given me some hope back- I am also 32, DH is 33- we've been trying for 3 years with 1 miscarriage 2 years ago that we conceived on our own- nothing has been found - we've been thru it all- cycles all work well every month- I'm hoping this is our answer.

Good luck to you.
