Started Lupron...

Well, I started Lupron injections tonight. It was pretty uneventful, as I had psyched myself up for it to be a big deal.
I have heard about some wicked side effects, so I will keep everyone posted. So far, so good.

We finally told my mother in law tonight what we are going through and she was very kind. My dh is adopted and as it turns out, my mother in law went through infertility for years as well. With no IVF alternative, she turned to adoption. It was a very touching conversation and she is very supportive, so that was a relief.

Anyway, the cycle is underway, so I will keep positive and see what happens.

Good luck to all who are trying for a bfp!!

Hi Sue

You are well on your way! Lupron is an easy injection to do. I had no symptoms with it but I guess some women do. Good luck to you!

Sue, I'm so glad to hear that you had no problems! I'll be following in your footsteps soon and other than being afraid this process won't work, the shots are what scares me the most. I know I have to have a C-Section if i'm lucky enough to have a baby and even that doesn't scare me! Silly, huh? It's the needle thing that makes me crazy. Well, good luck to you!! I hope that you continue to post. I really want to follow others along in the process. From what I've read on this board, there are some pretty terrific, brave and supportive women that post here. What a huge help this must be to many people! Karen

Hi Sue,

It sounds like you're off to a good start! I'll be joining you with the Lupron shots starting tomorrow morning. Today is actually my 31st birthday and I'm in an unusually good mood :D I'm hoping it's a sign of good things to come!

Keep me posted on your progress. It sounds like we'll be on similar cycles. I don't have my first b/w & us until June 8th, so I won't be stimming until at least then. What's your cycle look like?

Linda

Good luck Sue!
I hope you are one of the lucky ones with no side effects from the Lupron. The injections become a breeze after awhile. I think it's like all the ladies have been saying, it's just a matter of staying calm through the whole process. So do what you can to relax! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thank you all very much for your support!

Linda, Happy Birthday!! I will go for my b/w & u/s to start the stim meds on 6/4, so our cycles will be very close. That is always nice.

Karen, I was petrified too of the needles, and would certainly undergo an operation with less fear as well. However, having gone through a few IUI's with injectibles, it isn't really bad. I try to keep focusing on the possible outcome and that helps.

Keep posting ladies!!

Hello ladies,

I had my 2nd u/s on Monday and the RE said that quantity will not be an issue, since the follies seem to be responding. They will need to focus on quality, so they may adjust my dosage of the Gonal F. I have another u/s tomorrow morning, so we'll see. I have always had a lot of follicles, just not good ones. With the IUI's they never grew. I am on a lot more meds now though, so we'll see. Tomorrow is CD 7 already....

I am getting used to the shots. It's not so bad. (i won't be saying that once I get to the progesterone...)

Linda, let us know how it goes tomorrow. Good luck!!

Sue
