Please help in giving some "normalcy" to me ! I'm starting to get a little panicked in making the next decision.
I am 31 yrs of age, dh is 32. We are both healthy, "unexplained" infertility at first, but doc now says he believes it may be male factor (sperm counts borderline, they don't survive the wash very well). We tried 2 rounds of IUI w/clomid, 2 rounds with follistim, all not successful. So, we went to IVF. We had 8 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized. Of the 6, 3 were not growing very fast. We had 2 transferred. The 3rd made it to a blast in the lab, but was excessively fragmented, so they were not able to freeze. We didn't have any success.
I guess I'm wondering how many of you have had (or know of others) similar experiences (multiple failed IUI's, failed IVF, then the one "magic" cycle that worked). Our RE is suggesting to use PGD this next round of IVF, but we're hesitant, because on one hand, we want to be optimistic and have hope that the next round of IVF will simply just work. It's also so expensive, and we're thinking that if this round doesn't work, maybe we'd use it for the 3rd round of IVF.... but we just don't know what to do!
