IVF & Ovarian Cysts

Juniper - September 5

Hi Ladies!

I have a question. I just had my inseminations and am waiting for my two weeks. My doctor was not hopeful because of the conditions DH and I have. IVF is our next step; we just did the IUI to satisfy our insurance company's requirements. I had an 11cm ovarian cyst (endometrioma) removed in March and it is back. Ugh. It's 3cm right now. Will they allow me to start an IVF cycle with that present? It was hard for them to see the follicles on my left ovary due to the cyst this time, however I cannot wait, financially, to have it removed and then resume treatments six months later. We are paying COBRA right now at $1250/month and I cannot do that for another 9-12 months.

Oh Juniper,
I hope by some miracle that you will get pg this cycle and then don't have to worry about all of that stuff. I dont' know anything about cycts, but I know there are a couple of girls on here that may be able to answer some of your questions.

How is your 2ww going? I don't feel anything. I keep analyzing every twinge and muscle cramp in my belly and wondering...... ::) Why do we do that to ourselves?

My wait is....going! I am doing the same thing, paying way too much attention to every single feeling in my body. My breasts don't feel very tender anymore which has me doubting I am pregnant. But I guess we just don't know. When is your pregnancy test? I will be crossing my fingers for you. I know, I wish this would work and I could throw away all the needles for the IVF that I have waiting! The cyst is really a concern weighing on my mind.

Good luck to you!! Keep me posted!

I have a cycle coming up, I'm on bc pills right now. I actually had my first ivf cycle last month and I was really bloated and ended up having some hyperstimulation because of the Gonal F and Repronex. I apparently reacted too well to the stimulants. So, I can totally relate to what you're going through. :-\

No, I didn't have to stop, although they did warn me that I might have to. I went through the retrieval and transfer and unfortunately no luck. Like I said earlier, I'm starting my next one soon. Hope you feel better. :)

Hi Dee,
The actual retrieval didn't really hurt because you're under anesthesia, but afterward you are sore and most likely will be in bed for the rest of the day. I felt nauseated afterward, I guess because of the anesthsia and I didn't take any pain meds, but everybody's different. With me the bloating didn't go away, not until I had my menses. Hope this helps.
