I am not sure what exactly they are using can anyone give me so insight.... our class isn't until June 19th so I am anxious to see what all it calls for

Just a little basic info for you....

The medications injected (it seems there are more choices every year) are the same for IUI and IVF and the dosage is dependent on the woman, her medical conditions, and her past response to the meds.

The main difference is in IVF they want more follicles than with IUI, but in either case it can be overdone, resulting in a condition call hyperstimulation syndrome. If that were to occur then the cycle gets cancelled and there is a possibility that the woman needs to be hospitalized. To try to avoid this, the RE orders frequent lab tests and u/s, and makes adjustment to the medication dosage accordingly.

I had to do a brief injection training class - watch a video, do a mock one and then do a saline one to myslef - perhaps that is what you are in for....
