We will be starting our 1st IUI in Oct. I am VERY excited - my question is I have a very physical job - should I take the day after the inseminations off? I think the day of egg retrival will be enough for just that part of it right? Give me your opinions

I MEAN IVF - geesh - we are having IVF in Oct. I had to sign on as guest since I forgot my password - I haven't been on all summer -

Do I need to take time off day after IVF???

in my experience, one day for the egg retrieval was fine, but mentally i needed more than a day after the transfer. my guess is with a really physically challenging job you should take more than one day. why have to worry about whether or not you did everything you could have to give yourself the best chance of success?

I did 2 days of bedrest after my ivf's. No heavy exercise or work until I got my positive. It takes 10 days for implantation to be complete so I didnt want jeopardize anything. Good luck.

I too took 2 full days (including the transfer day) and stayed in bed. Then I still took it easy for a few days after that. Not worth the risk to go to work. I figured I would do everything and anything possible and then if it didn't work, I'd never look back and wonder if I could have done something differently. Good luck! karen

I also rested for 2 days after my transfers. Luckily, both were on a Friday, so I rested on the weekend. I have trouble slowing down. I am always go, go, go...so it's not easy.
I would recommend resting as much as you can.

Good luck,

Sue
