Hi Shannon,
You are a brave woman letting your husband inject you. I am taking follistim which is apparently the same thing as Gonal-F I am going for my egg retrieval as early as next Tuesday. I am starting to feel the reality of the situation.
I hope the RE visit goes well I have an E2 tomorrow morning at 7am. I do have a good feeling about March maybe it is because of St. Patricks Day!

Hi Kris-
I went to my RE today. I have been on 75 units of Gonal-F since Friday...RE did blood work and u/s. My u/s showed that not much is going on...follicles are about 10 mm...none have become dominant (I have PCOS, so I have many follicles). My Estradiol level is 71 so they are increasing my Gonal-F to 112 units starting tonight. I go back on Friday to recheck everything. Do you know anything about these numbers? Do they seem poor to you? Any insight you might have as you are going through this now as well, would be helpful!

I am in the same boat at you as far as not knowing what my numbers mean. I got my E2 back today and the nurse said it was 158 and they are leaving me on 150 UI. My RE requested that she do my u/s on Thurs. so I am a little nervous. Since this is my first cycle the numbers are really a mystery to me. I reading in a book that I have right now to see if I can get some insight on the E2 numbers I will post as soon as I find them.

This is a really dumb question but do I count my first day of stims or Lupron? I am confused about the E2 information I found the book I have says per follicle but I have not had a sono since my stims started. Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for checking for me! You count Day 1 as the first full day of your last period.

In that case I am technically on cycle day 23 but I suppressed with birth control pills and then Lupron for the first 20 days. I am so confused right now.

I have clarification on my cycle day it is actually cycle day 6 according to my IVF coordinator. I asked about the E2 levels but she really did not have any useful information.

Just wanted to see how your Lupron shots are going do you know anything about estradiol levels? I was curious since you have already been through an IVF cycle.

Hi Ladies-I start my stims tonight for IVF. I am nervous but ready...although I woke up feeling a little under the weather this morning and freaked out and went to my regular doc but he said as long as I don't develop a high fever today I should start my stims...that is what my RE said to.
So i start my mega dose of Gonal-f tonight ...450iu! Yikes....I am as ready as I will ever be though.

I hope they don't cancel your cycle I have my fingers crossed for you. I had my sono and E2 done today they saw 14 follicles on my right ovary and 4 on my left. My largest follicle measured almost 13mm. My RE said there could be more on my left but it is really tricky to see since it is hiding. My E2 level also jumped to 520 it was only 158 on Tuesday. My RE said that my retreival would be either Tuesday or Wednesday and that my E2 levels would probably be around 2000 or more. She also said that your E2 will measure around 150 to 300 per follicle so I hope this helps.
