I myself had to go through ivf due to problems with my fallopian tubes. I had a tubal pregnancy back in 1997 and could not get pregnant since then. After almost 8 years of trying to conceive, my husband and I decided to go to an infertility doctor where they confirmed that my tubes were not working. We had 4 embroys transfered on Nov 5, 2005, and are nervously awaiting if we are pregnant. I have been cramping a lot since the transfer and the doctor said that's a good sign. We're hoping for the best and asking the Lord to bless us with some little ones. Keep the faith up and pray that the Lord will bless you with children. I know it's a tough journey, but its all worth it. Keep me posted.

Hi, I've been reading your posts, and was hoping to join you. We are trying our first attempt at IVF.. i start my follistum shots the 9th of Nov. we have had our IVF class, ordered our Med's, and i'm on birth control pills til 5th. I had surgery on my fallopian tubes in May to clear some blockage.. and found out PG in Sept.then at 7 weeks, through an ultra sound we found we had a tubal pregnancy. I lost my right fallopian tube. They suggested we not try again naturally, due to the damage i have in my left tube. I'm looking forward to talking with people who have gone through this, or is currently going through this, my friends and family are great but haven't gone through it. .. ok i'm done, thanks for listening. I hope to hear from you soon.

The waiting period is the worst let me tell you. I'm even starting to have nightmares that the transfer was a failure. Keep up the faith and pray that the Lord will bless you with children. I know it's a tough journey, but it's all worth it. Keep me posted

Alma, good luck.. I hope everything is successful for you... are you taking progesterone right now? How did the transfer go? was there alot of pain? did you do the transfer on day 3 or 6? My doctor wants to do the transfer on day 6 with the 2 best embryo's..

Laura, how are you? Did the bloodwork mean the transfer didnt work,? How many did they transfer? I hope you get good news tomorrow.

Desiree, How did it go? did they extract the eggs yesterday? How are you feeling? How many were there.

I am getting so excited for everyone!!This is such a miracle that these doctors do. I sure hope it all works out for the best!

Mcronin, yes I am currently being injected with 1cc of progesterone at night and also inserting progesterone vaginal capsules. The transfer took approximately 10 minutes and no pain was felt, although I did go through a lot of pain after the retrevial was performed. The embroys were transferred 3 days after the retrieval. We find out tomorrow afternoon if we are pregnant. I am excited and scared at the same time, not knowing what the results may be. Where about are you right now with your treatment? wish you and all the other couples going through this process good luck and god bless.

I am still taking the stim drugs at this point. They are just taking it really slow because i have pco and 80 follicles, so i could over stim very easily. it is really frustrating and i am so tired of going in everyday to get u/s and b/w to find that they have hardly grown at all. i feel as if they will never get bigger. we have been on stims forever. good luck to everyone. can you go to work after retreival?? what do you feel like??

Alma - November 15

Desiree: Good luck to you and your husband. Don't get frustrated. God willing, everything will go right for you. When the retrieval is performed, they recommended that I not return to work till the following day due to the anesthesia. After the retreival, you feel a lot of cramping. I myself am not good with the aftermath of the anesthesia and so I winded up throwing up. Other than that, I was in a lot of pain for approximately 3 days, which was the day of the transfer. I was concerned for a while because I had a lot of pain in my belly area, but once I spoke to the doctors office it was indicated that its normal due to the pressure placed on that area in order to retrieve all 18 eggs. Good luck again to you and your husband and good luck to all the other woman going through this.

MCRONIN - November 15

Desiree: Hi, How long do they plan on keeping you on the stims? I thought it was 10-14 days.. you have 80 follicles? meaning 80 eggs? I only have 10 is that going to be enough? Keep the faith girl... don't get discouraged now.. stay strong! Having to keep going every day has to be hard.. i drive over an hour every time i go to the doctor.
Alma: I sure hope you get good news tomorrow. I am early in my process still.. I started stims the 9th of Nov. I go again tomorrow for another u/s and b/w. I am hoping everything goes smoothly. hoping retrieval right before Thanksgiving and transfer right after on day 6. So by end of the month we are hoping for. Then i have to wait 12-14 days for a PG test right?
This is about the time i get so frustrated.. People like us who want children, are responsible, loving, caring, and able to support a child, have so much trouble. Then there are irresponsible, child abusing, neglecting people who pop out kids like nothing.. just irritates me.
Sorry had to vent.. Girls, I hope everything is ok and I'll write again tomorrow after my appointment.. Thank you for being here for me during this time!!

Hi everyone. Well I just did the second pregnancy test this morning and my doctors office said I should know by the end of the business day. Cross your fingers girls.
Malissa: I too agree with you. I ask myself the same question over and over again. I also vent about the situation from time to time especially when my husband and I want children so bad, but I pray to the Lord that this will be it and that he will finally bless us with children. I will also pray for all you girls and hopefully everything comes out as planned. God bless.

Alma: That is exciting! Good luck to you.. You sound so relaxed and calm.. I think i'll be freaking out when I get to that point.
I went to the Dr. today.. my estrogen level is 1332 and i have 8 follicles from 10-14 mm ( i think its mm) then i have a few smaller yet. I am excited! they said thats good.. i asked if 8 is enough, they said its not the quantity its the quality. I do have to up my stims and start antogon tomorrow. I go back again on Sunday. This sure is a nerve wracking process.. but i'm positive about it. We'll probly extract mid-week next week.. I just hope its not on Thanksgiving because my husbands whole family is coming and my husband is cooking! I'll talk to you soon.
***thinking about you desiree*** hope things are good.

Hi Ladies,
In The respect of 80 follicals v.s. 10 follicals I would say 80 is too many and 10 is too few, but you both might still be OK. Out of 10 you would probably get 5 good embryos. Out of 80 you might get a bunch of empty follicals and only 5 good embryos as well. Time will tell. Just keep your fingers crossed!!

As for me, 13 days post day 3 transfer I had a BFP of bHCG of 74. 16 dpt bHCG of 145, 18 dpt 252 and a progesterone of 32. The bHCG in not doubling. It still could be a chemical P. It just drives me crazzy not knowing. Has any one else had this problen and still had a viable pregnancy?

Hi girls: I just received the call from my doctor's office and my husgand and I are pregnant with a due date of July 26, 2006. This was our first attempt with ivf and it all worked out. Therefore, girls don't lose the faith and I will keep you all in my prayers. God Bless and good luck to all of you.

Laura: the numbers are increasing.. does it have to double? what do they say? If it is chemical, what does that mean? You have the levels of a pregnancy but it didn't attach? please keep us updated... also, about my low amt of follies.. the nurse said there was a lady in there a month or two ago who only had 2 eggs.. they both fertilized, and she is now pregnant.. so you can have alot or a few. so like you said it matters the quality of them. I sure hope mine are strong. I get so nervous.

Alma: CONGRATULATIONS! That is great news. I sure hope i get great news like that..

Hi Ladies,

Alma- congradulations!

Mcronin- Thanks for asking- In early pregnancy. the bHCG is suppost to double every 48 hours for a healthy pregnancy. If it stops or goes down it is a chemical P. The early embryo has 2 types of cells, one set for the developing fetus, the other for imlantation and the formation of the placenta. A chemical pregnancy is when the embryo implants asn starts the early placenta formation but the fetal cell don't grow or don't grow correctly. When implantation accurs HCG is produced and you get a possitive test. If the fetal cells fail to grow or stop growing the HCG will eventually level off or decrrease. A chemical P is realy a very eary miscarrage but the fetus eather nevery started growing or stopped reely soon after imlpatation.

I just hope mine keeps going up (I wish it would start doubling!!) They say as long as it continues to go up there is a chance. If you have doubling you can rest easy untill the 7 week ultasound of the heart beat.
It just drives me a bit crazzy.

Hi girls. Thank you very much. Just wanted to let you girls know that I am praying for you guys so that the Lord may also bless you and your spouses with children. Don't lose the faith and just take a couple minutes out of the day to pray to God and you will see that he will also answer your prayers.

I have an appointment for my first ultrasound on December 7. At that time, we will find out how many embroys stuck and how many little ones we will be having. At this point if God blesses us with one or all four, it really doesn't matter as long as they come out healthy.

Keep me posted and once again God bless.

Alma
