What position should my cervix be?

I haven't been monitoring my cervix every day but a few days ago it was soft and not so high, today at 5 weeks pregnant it is hard and very low. I have only read that cervix should be high and soft - is mine a bad sign?

p.s. In addition to that, I am completely symptom-less.
