Sperm Analysis

Hi Dr. Smith
could you help us determine my husband sperm analysis.
His morphology was a 5% strict
Volume was 6.1 ml
Concentrations were Motile 30 million/ml
Total concentration was 49 million
Motility was 61%

Which one of these numbers represents count?

We have never been to an urologist, and we are considering doing it bc before this SA, we had a sperm chromatin, issue and I have read in a prior post that morphology correlates with sperm chromatin issues. We fixed the sperm chromatin issue but it was unknown what the sperm chromatin issue was at this sample. we feel it was ok.
which of the above numbers are the most important and why, does it have to do with fertilization rates and also the cellular energy of the embryo?
thanks

The "count" is not actually a count, it is the concentration of sperm in the semen. In this case, 49 million/ml. All semen paramters are important, but only in relation to each other. That is, no one semen parameter is more important than another. Of the parameters reported on this analysis, the morphology is abnormal. HOWEVER, because the other semen parameters are normal, there would appear to be an adequate number of morphologically normal sperm to achieve fertilization. Therefore, this is not a "male factor" case.
