Reducing E2 after Transfer

Dear Dr,

Recently I had a frozen transfer and had blood work done every 3 days to determine the PGN & E2. My E2 was at 473 pg/ml after 5th day of transfer. However, the E2 has been going down to 423 pg/ml to 373 pg/ml. Today I was told that my E2 is at 297 pg/ml. Should I be very concern of the reducing E2? Please advise.

My PGN is maintaining.

Thanks

No. Its normal for the E2 to decrease after retrieval/transfer. If you taking estrogen supplements, variation is expected as you change patches. Shortly after implantation, the E2 can go up, but not always. As long as it stays above 100 pg/ml, it is sufficient to support a pregnancy.

Best of luck.

What's PGN?

Dr Smith - July 13

PGN is shorthand for progesterone, a hormone necessary to prepare the uterine lining for implantaion.
