Dr. Smith-
I am a 35 yo who has completed 3 IVF cycles. DH is also 35 and has severely decreased sperm count and high rates of abnl morphology. My workup was normal, as is my history except for irregular ovulation. I am seen at a reputable clinic that does blast transfers only and has good stats.
#1 IVF/ICSI: 7 retrieved, 4 ferts (PGD for aneuploidy done due to dh curiosity-- all complex abnl and stopped growing by 8 cell stage). No transfer
#2 IVF/ICSI: 8 retrieved, 6 ferts, 2 grew (haltingly) to blast for 6 day transfer (both grade B). No implantation.
#3 IVF/ICSI: 16 retrieved, 12 ferts were frozen at 2pn stage. thawed and only one grew to 8 cell stage... stopped growing for one day then continued. Looked good quality on day of transfer. No implantation.
I guess i have a few questions. I am assuming that our poor embryo quality could be due to a combination of sperm quality and my egg quality? My RE believes that the embryos that were transferred were probably not chromosomally nl as there was no implantation. What, if anything are you aware of that could improve our embryo quality? We are meeting w/RE for cycle review tomorrow and for new plan... my latest bfn was just yesterday. I feel like i am beating my head against a brick wall stimming over and over but getting poor embryos that stop growing. DH is not interested in DE or adoption, so this is our only option. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
