Its true that the sperm are pretty beat up by the Microsort process (flow cytometry) and ICSI is always required for fertilization. However, I have not noticed any decrease in fertilization rates using Microsorted sperm. Neither have I heard any complaints from other embryologists about decreased fertilization rates with Microsorted sperm. Perhaps the RE's perception is different from the embryologists who actually work with the Microsorted sperm. Whenever RE's start talking about lab stuff... |
