male infertility

Hi - Thanks so much for devoting your time to answering questions here!

I have a general question regarding male infertility. My husband has had the basic semen analysis plus critical morphology. My husband has 1% normal forms and his sperm count ranges between 10 - 31 million (we know this from the past few IUI's). We are curently doing IUI's and if they don't work, our RE will probably encourage us to do IVF w/ ICSI. Is that the norm or does my husband need to see andrologist? I'm just wondering if it would make more sense to pursue the cause of his problems or if it's just better to go on to IVF w/ ICSI.

Thanks!

In most cases, the cause of male infertility is unknown and there is no "cure". A visit to the urologist can't hurt, but it likely won't lead to any revelations.

IVF/ICSI is the work-around of choice. I agree that IVF/ICSI would be the next step should the IUI's not work. Here's hoping it does.
