Hi Dr Smith

Can you please give me some advice. We have been through 3 failed cycles of ISCI i am 38 no probelms. hubby 33 with male factor fro only one descended testes. when we started he had count of 0.01million and low everything else.

Change in lifestyle, supplements and a variocele op which was agreed to do when count had gone up to 10million.

Results now:
Volume 3ml
Concentration 7 mil
Motility 60% progressive
Morphology 8% normal forms
Round Cells 0.5mil
PH 8.0
Total sperm count 21mill

This had incresed alot BUt my question is how likely are we to achieve pregnancy naturally with way pauls sperm analysis is now???

How important is Concentration & Round cells which are both way below normal levels and is ther anything that can be done to increase these??

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated as cannot bear to go through IVF again

Lisa

The World Health Organization defines your situation as "subfertile". That translates to a decreased chance of pregnancy. Decreased, but not zero.

It is impossible to predict your chances of pregnancy in a meaningful way. However, we never say never. Everybody knows somebody, who knows somebody who heard it from a friend that this women got pregnant with her husband who had 4 motile sperm. I read it on the internet. These reports are anecdotal and generally not true. At 38, your biological clocking is ticking loudly. I would suggest moving on to assisted reproductive technologies such as interuterine insmeination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF) to improve your chances.
