Everything I've read said the number 1 reason for a miscarriage is that the genetic material within the blastocyst etc is not sufficient for development. With our surrogacy, the embryos were all tested, they scored high, implanted nicely, and then our surrogate miscarried at 5 weeks. What would cause this, if the embryos were found to be healthy? Should we find a different surrogate? She is young and has had three successful pregnancies of her own. We wonder if she's young enough to not take all the hormone treatments seriously, but wonder if she's a better bet than someone more mature, but also older? We are heartbroken, of course, and just trying to make the best next step. We had only four embryos, and now have only 2 left.
