Sorry sweetie. I will pray for you. Clomid hyperstimulated me so much that the Dr. wanted to put me in ICU. I was Very sick with Clomid. My husband got a different which just happened to pay for IVF, we were very lucky. I hope this works. The first 2 times we did IVf we didn't get a fair shake at all..the first time they did a rescue ICSI at 28 hours post retrieval, but the Dr. siad evereything would be fine...at the f/u appt he told us then we had less than a 1% chance of it working...I was mad and asked why he didn't tell us before the transfer if he knew that..he didn't have a answer...he was already paid is what it boiled down to. The second time we did it, I loved the Dr and the nurses they were great, but I was very sick I was hyperstimulated, along with my b/p being 240/140 ( didn't know that till after the facts when the h/a didn't stop). We had froze 2 the last time we did it 4 years ago and were going to transfer them 9/13/07, but the died before they even got in me. So we are trying this time...I am almost looking for something to go wrong...I don't want to set myself up for a huge let down. Someone else made a statement about people who don't want/ need kids having as many as they want......I hear you..I work as a paramedic and ER charge nurse and see it all the time...deplorablel iving conditions, getting called for a baby not breathing only to know it has been abused. It is very disenheartening. I have been blessed with 2 boys 11 & 13 from a previous marriage, my husband has no kids. I truly hope for him and the boys we get a BFP tomorrow...the kids are excited they want to be a big brother. As you can tell by my rambling I am quite emotional.....sorry. jena is the clomid the only drug they give you do they do the ovidrel shot when you ovulate. I had it everytime and i always concieved.

Jena - Here are two ideas for you...Try getting capital one healthcare financing...They do infertility loans...Also go online and try going under maternity insurance card...I know there is one available in the DC are which I am sure does not help but, you can see if it is available in your area...teh website in actually www.maternitycard.com and they have a program for infertility...Hope this may be of help...HOw are you doing today?...Hope you are doing as well as can be expected...Talk to you soon.

They want me to start clomid and do ultra sound tomorrow. BUt i have court in the morning I havbe no idea how to juggle both. I made the appointment but if I can make it I guess I will go in on friday . They want to do day 3-7 but if I cant make it I will be on 5-9 this time . Do u think it makes a difference?

yeah they give me clomid 100mg and the trigger shot and then iui.. Should I suggest something else? what is ovidrel?

hyperstimulated =? I am unfamilliar with that. I think that was the reason they told me to drink alot of fluids.
This one id going to work for you. PLease let us know., do u have a beta test or home preg? how are you feeling any symptoms. ?

i guess its a trgger shot too. Also you can try acr fertility they help pay for infertility.

Jena - I am not sure what you mean by the day thing..I did 2 IUI's back in 2003 and it was pretty similar to the protocol that I used with the IVF..The only difference is I was stimulated longer and had the birth control pills and Lupron added during IVF...With my IUI I used follistim and repronex and then did an ovidrel trigger shot...I did enhanced cycles with clomid back in 2000 and then we were monitore a little and I was given pregnol injection and then did the babydance with the DH....I have not used clomid for years...My RE feels a lot like Dr Jacobs on this forum site about Clomid...Clomid is an older fertility drug...There are many other types that can be used for these procedures it all depends on the patient and the RE...Hope you are doing okay....Talk to you soon.

Hi, What I mean about "the days" os do u think it matters if I am taking clomid days 3-7 or 5-9 do u think one is better or doesnt matter?
okay the trigger shot is called chorionic gonadotropin inj 10000 . sound familiar?

I am familar with the trigger shots...If I had to make a sensible guess on the days I would say days 5-9 since our bodies are supposed to naturally ovulate between days 10 and 14...I think it would be better to take it closer to the body's natural timing...Then again that is only my opinion...Hope that helps a little and makes a little sense.

Thanks for your optimism. I am doing my beta tomorrow. I was crampy for a few days maybe 6-8, sore breasts, get hot then nauseated, killer h/a...watching my b/p like a hawk this time. I feel much better this time than the other 2. I have a clear "leakage" for a better lack of words..think it might be from the Prometrium supp. I am also on 10,000 units of Heparin a day, so if I'm not, I may bleed to death. I had done well until last night i barely knicked my knee and it took 30 minutes to get it to quit bleeding. Hopefully we will have good news. I'll pray for everyone to have good news too.

Anybody!
I am so upset right now. I just need to vent and sorry If u have to hear it. as u know I went through the iui and clomid and trigger shot and got a bfn on 19th , I am suppose to go into doc tomorrow to start next round. I am so mad I am going to cancel it. My husband has low sperma nd morphoogy issues and he is suppose to STOP smoking. But Instead I just found out he has like trippled it. I am floored . I cant believe it. I put my body through the stress and risk and he can even give a little on his part but went and is making it worse, I am so upset right no I am crying!
I think I might not continue and I am going to jUts give up. He can even give 100 %. What will It be like when we have a baby I will be raising him/her on my own , either with him on my own or without him on my own. I am so upset. I am sorry to vent to everyone!

Jena - I know your frustration to a point and I also can understand where DH's head may be...I am an ex smoker myself...I actually quit on April 16th a day before my first IVF transfer and have not smoked since...I guess on one hand it was easier for me to just say forget about it because I was the one doing the shots and everything and not sure how the smoking would interact with it all...I had smoked for 18 years at that point...I started at 15 because of peer pressure in high school...I can also see that he would be worried for you and see the stress you are going through and increase it...It is a nasty terrible addiction the worst one out there because it is so hard to quit it...Before cancelling anything sit down with him and as hard as it will be explain your frustration calmly and let him know that you are giving 100% and you expect him to do the same...Infertility and overcoming it is a 2 way street and not just a one way...In order for you to be healthy and make it through it you need a great support system...So let me know how it goes and I will pray that he gets the will power that he needs to beat this smoking thing...By the way, I quit cold turkey and still had cigarettes left in the pack when I threw it out...Let him know that it is MIND OVER MATTER...He just thinks that he needs them to get through the day...Also let him know that his foods will taste much better after quitting and the clothes will smell totally great...Best wishes honey and talk to you soon.

Jena actually now that i read everyones info on a trigger shot i dont know if ovidrel is a trigger shot. Ovidrel you give the night you ovulate to help the eggs mature.

Also im doing pretty good trying to take it easy.

I also agree with Jenny fertility issues are stressful you have to talk to him. Is the RE giving dh meds for his issues? He prolly is also blaming his self that you guys are having problems. Wehn i found out that my dh was okay and it was me with the issues i blamed myself for us not being able to have kids. Talk to him find out whats going on in his head, you maybe shocked how he feels.
