Nice to hear from all of you! And it's nice to hear that people like the names I've chosen. Most people like Hailey but aren't thrilled with Jayden. I don't know what it is about Jayden, I just love that name! It's somewhat different but not crazy or anything. :) Hailey is becoming quite popular but I've had that name stuck in my head since I started IVF (not sure why) so I'm going with it. To be honest I'm not even sure where I first heard Jayden but the minute I did, I knew that was the name I wanted if I had a son.
Baby4us, At 19 weeks, you're sure to feel some movement soon! I'm so excited for you since it's just incredible. And that is wonderful that your u/s went well. It's amazing how much relief an u/s gives us. I"m already anxious for my next one to see how Hailey is growing. Well day 1 off work is great. I haven't done much which is the plan and I'm loving it. I had a lot to do over the weekend and some stress due to the news of an Aunt that died and I had tons of contractions. I only had one all day today and I've been mostly resting so it makes me feel like i'm doing the right thing by being home.
Jacki, wow are stories really are similar! Yes, we did assisted hatching. You know, they never once mentioned anything about grades of the embyros to me. I did have 3 transferred. And if you aren't familiar with my whole story, I was advised not to continue (due to the cost all out of pocket) by one RE since I had only 3 mature follicles. He said I had a 10% chance of conceiving. Well with ANY chance, I wasn't giving up. And thank God I didn't! So when I hear stories of tons of follicles or eggs or embryos, I'm happy for the women but I'm proof that it's not all that matters. I guess out of 3 embryos, 2 were strong enough to make it and I'm just extremely lucky. So my message is, you just never know. And if it hadn't worked for me at least I would have known I did all I could. I'm thrilled it worked out of course but I think you know what I mean. If I had quit, I'd have wondered "what if" all my life. It was our only chance due to the $15,000 it cost. I have 2 girls starting college very soon so I coudln't keep going and ruin their chances in school. So again, we are very, very lucky. We did not need icsi but told them to do it if necessary. I don't know if assisted hatching made the difference but I know it was done.
Fiso, I wish you SO MUCH luck. I can't say enough how much I hope this works for you. You will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. thanks again to all of you! Karen
