I am happy to report the birth of my son and daughter, Jake and Lily. I delivered them via c-section on 4/11 at 35 weeks. I had developed pre-eclampsia and went into labor that morning, but due to my daughter's position (transverse), I had to have a c-section. Also, due to my high blood pressure and low platelet count, I had to be out for the birth.

Everyone is home now after a week or so in the hospital and doing well. It is so worth all of what we went through to get here. My dh and I can't possibly love them any more than we do right now.

My best wishes to everyone on this site who is pregnant or trying. Thanks so much for being there along the journey. I couldn't have done this without your support.

Regards,
Sue

Thanks, everyone.

Some details....Jake was born 5 lbs. 4 oz. and Lily was 4 lbs 5 oz. Jake is now 5 lbs 14 oz. and Lily is 4 lbs 10 oz., so they are growing fast. They were 18 1/2 inches and 17 inches respectively and are now 20 1/4 and 18 1/2. They are 2 weeks old today. I love them to death and am so grateful for this opportunity and journey. My dh and I are in awe of them.

They had some prematurity issues which have all resolved on their own now and we are getting used to our every 3 hour feedings, although some of us sleep more than others....ha, ha.
It is so worth missing sleep. My in-laws have been helping us out and that has been great.

I will keep posting when I can and let you know how everyone is doing.

Take care,

Sue
