The chromosomes are being tested this time but I'm still trying to collect any ideas and opinions I can. My RE meets with a panel of specialists and I know they'll discuss my case as well. My RE does listen to me so if I come up with a possible angle, she will look into it.

My history is mc, mc, child, mc, child, mc, mc. All were first trimester miscarriages. They were at weeks 4.5, 5, 6, 8.5, and 9. This last one was at 8.5 weeks and I was on baby aspirin, vaginal progesterone twice daily, and a diabetic diet. (I don't have diabetes but recently showed I have insulin resistance). This last time, I had weekly ultrasounds, starting at 5 weeks. All was normal, including heartbeat at 6 weeks. At 7 weeks, the heartbeat and size were great, but the fetal pole didn't look typical and the yolk sac was too large. At 8 weeks, there was no heartbeat and though there was growth, not enough. This most recent miscarriage is the first one that will have the chromosomes tested.

I wondered if anyone was in a similar situation, or just knew of possible things to look into. I have had a slew of testing and am heterogenous for FVL, though no one thinks that caused my miscarriages based on having healthy kids in there and no history of clots. (My healthy kids were born at 41 and 42 weeks at 10lb 8oz and 11lb 4oz!)

I realize that everything is a benifits vs risks. I don't want to do more than I have to. I get hyperemesis when pg - even when I miscarry - so I'll likely end up on at least zofran and phenergan again, maybe reglan too. I am currently still breastfeeding a 2 year old, so that makes me unsure of taking things like metformin. (Plus, I've read studies that show diet actually works better than metformin in most cases!)

Is there any testing or medications that you can think of that I need to look into to? (Other than heparin/lovenox, I'm sure that will be looked into by the RE).

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have had 3 miscarriages and they believe them to have been in the tubes. I just had the repeat pregnancy loss blood work done and they found my husband has the Robertsonian Translocation. That is most likely to blame for the many miscarriages for us. I would definately recommend having that tested. I read that 1/1000 people have it. I hope this helps.

Thank you for responding. I just looked up Robertsonian Translocation and it talked about it being on certain chromosomes. DH and I both had karyotypes done on our chromosomes. So, that can be ruled out. I guess it's good to be able to rule things out too!

WEll i have had 5 m/c also. I had m/c 11weeks, m/c 6weeks, m/c 8weeks, child born c-section 39weeks 6lbs 9oz, m/c4weeks, m/c 14weeks, child born 38 weeks 7lbs 15oz. Unfortunitly i have been there. My last chld was just born on 2/8/8. I had my tubes ties after the last due to not wanting to go through i anymore. They never did find a reason for all my m/c's. I was on lovenox as a prevenitive with the last one until the 2nd trimester. I never had any chomosome or clots found with any of my loses. I have unexplained infertility an unexpalined m/c's.

didnt they tell you to stop breastfeeding when you got pg. they made my sister in law they said it was not good. ALso i get hyperemisis really bad this last ime i had a picc line and a home nurse and all.

Breastfeeding is fine when pg unless a woman has problems with pre-term labor. Or, problems with a short luteal phase. My LP has always been long enough and my kids who made it were post-dates. The up-to-date info is that breastfeeding is perfectly fine while pg for the majority of women.

Luckily, I haven't needed a picc line. My HG has always been classified as "mild," though as you know, there's nothing mild about it! I'm not functional when I'm sick but I am able to eat and drink enough as long as I taken my meds and start the meds early enough. I have to lie around all day feeling sick when I get pg, but at least I can stay out of the hospital thanks to the meds.

That's interesting that you were on lovenox with no proven clotting problems. I'll write that down on my list of questions for the RE!

They actually put alot of people on it as a preventative now if your have alot of repeat loses. Yeah i have severe hyperemisis. I had to take 25 mg of phenegrin every 6 hrs, it basically would knock me out for most of the day. I was on constant iv. I lost 40 lbs the 1st trimester last time.

after having only 1 child 17 years ago I have suffered 9 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies of my own I can feel your pain disappointment anguish and frustration....

I am due in 6 weeks and had no medical intervention mostly because I live on an island and there is no one qualified to treat me close by.

Push your doctors to do whatever it takes...

And if you can manage and want this pregnancy bad enough WELL the baby is 2 years old now maybe you could start thinking about weaning?????? so you can get ALL the necessary treatment available to you!!

i am currently breastfeedingm y 2 mth old but i could not imagine doing it until shes 2yrs old she can get it until 1 at the most

You can breastfeed as long as you want bdantonio. I never thought I'd nurse past a year and now I can't imagine not nursing still. This is what works for my family!

As for weaning for treatment, I haven't been told that I need a treatment that would require weaning. I do need to research any treatment that makes sense to see if it's breastfeeding friendly. I've recently read that metformin is not only breastfeeding friendly, but it can even increase milk supply! If I need a treatment that would require weaning at this point, I would hold off on trying to get pg for another year likely.

HI, I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM I HAVE RECENTLY HAD 3 M/C IN A ROW. ALL WERE BETWEEN 5 AND 7 WEEKS. I HAVE 3 HEALTHY CHILDREN FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE, AND HAD MY TUBES TIED. 6 YRS LATER I HAD THEM REVERSED (MARCH 07). I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE SURGERY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE M/C. I AM VERY DISCOURAGED AND NOT TO MENTION BROKE FROM THE TR-- 10 GRAND FOR THE SURGERY, SO I CANT KEEP AFFORDING TO GO THE RE. ANY SUGGESTIONS? DH HAS HAD A SEMEN ANALYSIS.IT WAS NORMAL THOUGH. I AM WONDERING IF MY HORMONES ARE OUT OF WHACK.

I know how you feel i have 5 m/c's from 6-15 weeks. Have they told you any reason for the m/c's. Did they test for chromosome disorders? ARe you on any meds?

I'm new here and just ran across your post. My situation is similar. Here's a brief history....Been trying for 3 years. My husband and I have been pg 6 times with no children yet. mc have ranged from 4-13 weeks. I just had my 3rd d and c yesterday (this pg 10 wks 5days). We have 2 very promising ultrasounds this time (much like our 3rd pg) Baby grew each time and heart rate was messured and heard. I also had a uterian septum removed last march, and diagnosed with PCOS. Last 3 pg have been on metphormin and heprin injections. At this point, Doctor pretty much says....persistance will pay off. Having tests done on the baby this time, maybe we'll find something? We had inconclusive results 3rd pg.

Our plan is never give up as it has been from the begining! We are going to start looking into surrogacy and adoption while we continue to try on our own also. A friend and I are also looking into starting a group in our home town. I feel that there is soooo much to talk about and learn and it's all so interesting.

In all honesty, my pain meds are starting to kick in, so off to a nap I go for now. I'm glad I found this site and look forward to getting to know you and the others!! It's nice to have another person to talk to.

We have tried progesterone for some of them. They think that the times we did try it, the m/c was already in progress. Just during this last pg, they tested my levels 3 times before any u/s (they were all good, but a consistant decline) I was worried about it, but they said anything over 20 was good. After they started the u/s, no more blood draws. I hope the next time, we can keep testing my prog. levels at least (it might have dropped druing the last few weeks of this pg. but they wouldn't know). Did you do progesterone? I know that under 20 is unsafe, but do you know, is there a max number that also isn't safe for the baby?

I just feel like I would like a closer watch even after the u/s. It seems like such an easy fix if that's what works next time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As I too have been in your shoes. I have had over 20+ miscarriages, I am pregnant now about 5 weeks and I am waiting to m/c anyday now. My levels on Wednesday were 57 and by Friday they were 5. I have'nt started bleeding but I have the cramping. It is such a blessing that I am able to conceive no problem, but every pregnancy ends between 5&6 weeks! I have had every test you can imagine, I have used progesterone,81mg of aspirin,folic acid,lovenox,hepirin you name it I've tryed it!

Have you been seen by an R.E? This is the second one that I've been seen by. She is HEAVEN SENT, the first one was only for the money, all he wanted to talk about was IVF and a surrogate, but I have excellent eggs and ovaries. And I have no problem getting pregnant.

My new R.E had me go today to have blood work done to determine my blood type and to see if it's negative or positive. I have been doing research all day, I think she wants to see if I'm RH negative. Would you happen to no if your negative or positive? I have a cousin and she is RH negative, she has had 2 miscarriages and was given some shot after the last one she did'nt no she was negative with the first pregnancy.

I no it will happen for us all when it's the right time. But sometimes I wonder when is the right time. You have come to the right place for support, we are always here for each other. Take care....Tiffany

Tiffany how old are you? You also said 20+ miscarriages that srazy. My last pregnancy was a success however we had decided at that time if we lost that one we were done and i would get my tubes tied. Luckily i carried to term but i still had my tubes ties. I have had 5 m/c's and that is more then enough. MMine was all between 6-15 weeks. When we were on number 3 of m/c's we looked into serogency and were going to give fertility one last try or do the serogency. We had our first daugter on pregnancy 4 the lost pregnancy 5 and 6 then had number 7. i dont know how you cna keep going through it.
