Hi Juliem.
I know of one coworker who reduced and ended up losing both babies... It is such a tough decision and is so personal, however, what total number of children would you like in your family? If this is your first successful pregnancy, maybe consider letting it run its course? If I were you, I would research reductions and also have a serious heart to heart with my hubby and those close to me. Just for fun, check out a site or two that focus on multiples and read some of the responses of the moms who are living it. Three friends of mine have twins, plus one or two more children and as much as it has been hard at times, the blessings seem to out weigh the tough days.

Good luck with your decision process and let the final answers come from you and your husband and not a doctor (unless of course your health is at risk...or one of the babies). I think you' ll know what is the right move for you and your hubby!

Any time there is fetal reduction, there is a risk of losing the entire pregnancy. In our area, the people who do the reductions are Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists. For that reason, I defer all questions about reduction to them. They are also the experts at managing multiple pregnacy, and have all the statistics as to risk of bot reduction and not.

Thanks for your kind advice. I am 39 and this is my first and last pregnancy (we had decided not to try for more children after I turn 40). I am totally paranoid to have a miscarriage because this is my only chance. Even if I can bring home just one healthy baby I will consider myself extremely lucky. Sometimes life doesn't turn out the way we expect. We have an appointment with specialist in 2 weeks and will know more.
Did you friend that you mentioned reduced to one or to twins?
