Hi Doctor,

Is it ok to have sex in the lead up to egg retrieval ?
I heard it is good to have the male ejaculate during this time to keep the sperm "fresh". Would intercourse interfere with the follicles causing them to release the eggs ?

No, intercourse will not cajes ovulation. You do need to be careful not to traumatise your ovaries. Late in the stimulation hey may become quite large and will be just over the top of your vagina. In fact, it is probably a good idea if your husband ejaculate no longer than 2 days before retrieval.
