Dear Dr. Jacobs,

I am scheduled to have IVF in May. I understand that I will need to continue to take progesterone suppliments at least until the BETA and then if positive, until about 12 weeks. Are there any differences in effectiveness between the progesterone injections versus the vaginal suppositories?

Thank you for all you help.

Nikki

Actually vaginal progesterone administration seems to be quite effective. Progesterone injection is still the "gold standard". I am too much of a coward to abandon it, yet.
Good luck.

Dear Dr. Jacobs,

Thank you for your reply. One of the reasons that I asked was because we are going to South Africa to have the IVf, so I am concerned about flying back to the States with liquid progesterone, given the airlines hatred of all things liquid being brought onboard. I think I will contact the airline to find out their policy and choose the injectables.

Thanks again!

Nikki
