Dr Jacobs,

I have been using Prednisolone preconception. I believe I am now pregnant. Is it safe to continue Prednisolone throughout the entire pregnancy? Or only through the first trimester? Any info is always appreciated...Thank You...Tiffany

Small doses of Predinsone are probably safe to use during pregnancy. If you have a variant of adrenal hyperplasia, it is important that you take Prednisone to protect the developing external genetalia of a female fetus. Those structures begin to develope very early.
