I had my HCG shot on March 19, and am currently on my 2ww after 3dt of 2 embryos on March24th. I am due to have my serum hcg on April 4th, my question is, how long does the hcg shot remain in your system (to affect a hpt result) and can I take a hpt before the 4th (which would be 14 days after retrievel) to see if it is +ive? I cannot stand this waiting!! thank you

The half life of hCG in circulation is about 3 days. Using the urine pregnancy test at homne too early my detect the hCG you injected, or it could detect an abnormal pregnancy, which will not continue to develope. As difficult as it is, please wait for 2 weeks after egg retrieval.
