Dr. Jacobs,

I am 35. Just had the first IVF round cancelled due to low estrogen levels. I was on "long" Lupron protocol. With normal FSH and estrogen on day 3. Produced 9 follicles total, but estrogen was 189 on day 7.

Questions: when would you recommend to start the next round? Is there any benefit of letting my body "rest" before another round?

Your ovaries must be free of cysts, and your estrogen level should be less than 70 pg/ml, before you can start you stimulation. I have my patients take birth control pills before starting a cycle start.
