On My First Round Of Provera & Clomid

Hello everyone,

I just joined and I would like to say hello. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over three years.

This is my first round of Provera & Clomid. How I pray we will be lucky enough to get pregnant during the first round. I can dream, can't I?

I took my first Provera pill on Friday, April 21st and took my last Provera pill on Sunday, April 30th.

On Wednesday evening, May 3rd, I started spotting lightly. The Provera had worked! It initiated a period!!!

On Monday, May 8th, I took my first dose of Clomid. On Friday, May 12th, I took my last dose of Clomid.

According to doctor's orders, my husband and I are "prescribed to have intercourse every other day." We joke about that! We've never been prescribed to have intercourse before and it just sounds funny. ;)

So...that's what we aim to do until next Monday, May 22nd. I'm to go to the doctor and have my blood drawn to check my progesterone levels to see if & when I am ovulating.

Needless to say, I am very excited about this whole process, and for the first time in over three years my husband and I actually feel hopeful. That's a feeling we seemed to have forgotten all about...

It feels good to talk about this subject with other women who are going/have gone through the same thing.

Hi Diane,

Just wanted to say good luck with everything!

It sounds like the provera/clomid got you started and that's really great!

I was diagnosed with pcos in '04, and had to take 10 days of prometrium, which I think is about the same thing as Provera. All it really is, is progestrone. And the treatment is called a progestrone withdrawal... to see if your body will have a cycle.

Unfortunately, I never made it to clomid. Had the prescript. for it, but my body just wouldn't cooperate with anything.

Then they tried again by giving me prometrium for 10 days, and then 5 days of estrogen. Blah! Talk about being loopy from hormones, lol! It was like being on a roller coaster.

I did wind up spotting a little, but that was about it. After that I moved on to metformin... which my body didn't like at all.

Right now I'm on a break from it all, but I am about to start taking/trying Ovulex. I figured taking natural suppliments/herbs may not be as bad on me. So we'll see. :)

I am on the same course as you. I just finished my 10days of provera and am waiting for the bleed now and then i can strt taking the clomiphene.

Let us know how your cycle went and your expereiences as well on thise two drugs. I pray everything went well

HI I'M NEW HERE. I GOT MY FIRST ROUND OF CLOMID 2 WEEKS AGO YET I'M STILL WAITING FOR AF TO ARRIVE. I WAS DUE ON THE 12TH. TWO NEG TESTS SO FAR. I KNEW I'D SKIP. IT'S MY LUCK. DOES ANY ONE ELSE FIND IT HARD TO STAY HOPEFUL WHEN NOTHING GOES YOUR WAY AND EVERY WEEK YOU'RE HEARING ABOUT ANOTHER PREGNANCY?????????? ??? ??? ???[color=Red][/color]

hi there! i know what you feel, :( i had provera-clomid dou but it results neagative.. very frustrating... :'( then i heard my 2 sisters-in-law are pregnant.. i feel so depressed.. :'(

I'm on my first round of Provera & Clomid. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for just over a year but my periods were always irregular.

I took the Provera for 10 days and then 3 days later I got my period! I start on the Clomid on 1/21 and take that until 1/25...then we were "told" to have sex every other day for a week after that...fine by me, ha!

If all goes well, I'll be taking a pregnancy test on Valnetine's Day!! Hoping I get some of the baby dust being scattered around on this site!
