Thanks Mickey I know you are right... but it is so hard to just relax. We are going to Greece for 2 weeks in September so maybe that will take the pressure off. Congratulations on your pregnancy...keep us posted.

Veroki-

When i went to see my high risk for the first time for consultation he told me his plan about lovenox. i was very pleased with how calm and sure of himself he was. he also told me that sinse i has been pg twice before that was not the problem and to go home and get pg and to come back as soon as i was pg. this was around the new year. i told him that my af cycle was irregular and i was 10 weeks with no af. he put me on progesterone to kick start my cycle. well i took the pill for 10 day (bad PMS) as prescribed and there was af. I used an ovulation kit (pee on a stick every am and wait for as urge) and BD. i tried this for months and BFN. I stopped the sticks for a while. and AF went away too, i thought maybe pg, BFN. I considered another round od progesterone, but AF came. we tried a few more months but each time BFN. I stopped thinking about it so much, let nature take its course, and i think that's what made the difference. when i stopped the stress and worry I got a BFP on june24! ;D I'm now 12w4d. so iguess what i'm saying is you've been pg before, so that's not the problem. just BD, have some fun, relax, and maybe cross your fingers. six months isn't that bad, is it?
good luck

Hi!
I'm new to this forum and came across your posted message. I was also diagnosed with prothrombin genetic mutation after suffering a stroke when I was 26 years old. I had a difficult time getting pregnant and had a miscarriage a year and a half ago. I am now happy to say that I am 34 weeks pregnant and on Lovenox 40mg once per day. Soon I will be switched to heprin, which is shorter acting to help prepare me for labor. Prior to getting pregnant I had been on Plavix for many years and ALWAYS had bleeding problems during my mentral cycle. I (without my doctors consent and DO NOT advise you doing this went off plavix and started taking a baby apsirin a day instead). I was extremely frustrated that we were not able to get pregnant and the miscarriage only made things emotionally harder for us. :-[ I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but in my case it seemed to help us get pregnant. You will be in our prayers and wish you luck.

Septembermommy welcome to this forum.....Congratulations you are almost there.

I have been on a baby aspirin since I have been diagnosed almost one year now.

karrot305 - July 29th, 2007 8:53 PM

hey everybody! havent been on in awhile. hope everyone is doing good with the Drs appts! Im at 14 wks 1 day right now, this time theyre letting me go 3 weeks between appts instead of 2. makes me a little nervous.

mickey- Ive only had one ultrasound so far and the HR was 188 as well at about 8 1/2 weeks. they didnt seem too concerned about it and my 2 sonos since then have been in the 170s. usually girls have a higher HR- so thats what everyone is telling me to expect. and yes- defintiely better than being low! I do take my regular prenatal and an extra 1mg folic acid and 50mg B6.

veroki- congrats on the wt loss! I lost 50 lbs a few years back and it was so hard! it took me about 4 years. try to do some weight training- it helps keep it off!

aimee- good luck with the ET coming up. make sure youre not afraid to ask your drs questions. I know what you mean when you say they dont explain things well sometimes. I was told I had to start taking lovenox over the phone and didnt even know it was an injection until my husband brought it home from the pharmacy!!

As far as my whole insurance situation- I got very frustrated this week with the insurance co (PHP) trying to get them to cover more. mines $250 a month co pay, even though "non-formularies" in are plan are supposedly 40. The pharmacist looked it up and the regular price for it at 1 60mg injection per day is just over $2000! anyways, they wouldnt budge so were stuck paying 2500 per pregnancy that we werent expecting. absolutely sucks! I had a total bawling break down over it last night. Mainly over all the "could haves"..... COULD HAVE had a nice vacation, or new set of appliances, or new elliptical trainer that I really wanted to help take off the baby weight.... ugh, very frustrating!!!

hope everyone else is having an easier time staying tough!!

Kara

everyone i know says a high hr is a boy my daughters rate stayed in the 140-150s at all times this baby is 179

karrot305 - July 30th, 2007 8:32 AM

just looked up some stuff on normal fetal heart rates- normal seems to be 110- 160 but in early preganancy is usually higher and up to 190 is okay. good news for all of us- once youve heard a "normal" heart rate the risk of m/c really drops- below 1% ;D also, the whole gender prediction based on HR is definitely not scientific, just an old wives tale that over 140 is a girl and under is a boy. studies have shown there really is no correlation. too bad for those of us that would like to know a little early! ;)

Hello everyone:

Just wondered if anyone had any trouble conceiving after being put on Lovenox 40mg. Conception was the least of my problems months ago. I would conceive and then miscarry very early. Tests revealed that I had elevated levels of APA and then lovenox was prescribed. Now we can't seem to get pregnant. I would really appreciate any feedback on this topic. I feel like we are encountering a whole new problem just when I thought my problems were close to being resolved. Thank you in advance for any advice. Christina
[You are on the lovenox before actually being pregnant? How long have you been trying? I had no problem conceiving twice already last year....after diagnosis I have been trying for 6 months and nothing. I personally think it is a mental thing...thinking about it too much.

christina- from what Ive read and studied, lovenox is actually supposed to HELP with conception. Particularly the implantation process. So even if you get a fertilized egg and it doesnt implant, you wont get pregnant, but the lovenox helps the situation by preventing clotting at the implantation site. Nowhere have I seen anything about making it harder to concieve. try to stick with it, Im sure it sucks to be so frustrated. good luck!

as far as injection sites go... ive been doing the lovenox for about a month and just last night had my first really bad bruising! i started by working up my thighs and the biggest bruise there was about the size of a nickle, flat, and not tender. The last two nights I did just above my belly button- the one just to the right had ZERO bruising, the same spot just to the left from last night looks like I have a purple golf ball under my skin and is soooo hard and tender! I dont know what I did differently! so weird. but I think Im gonna move back to my hips and thighs for good! the only thing my Dr. said was to move around body parts gradually because of absorbtion. like go from thighs to hips to love handles to stomach, never just back and forth like from legs to abs.

I have Blue Cross PPO in California and I just recevieda notice that I had to start using their "Specialty Pharmacy Prescription" compnay in order to continue to receive my benefits for the lovenox. I took all the steps called mydoctor and coordinated with this new pharmacy that delivers meds and found that they had a break down in communication within their own company and never shipped me my meds. I went three days without my lovenox shots because I was waiting for them. Eventuall my husnabd and I got so frustrated that I called Blue Cross directly and made them approve temporary shots until I receive my meds. It has been two and a half weeks and no meds yet from this company. A word of suggestion if anyone has to go through this. First get your months supply then try to switch over. I will probably take that long!

bdantonio - August 1st, 2007 3:51 PM

i had the same thing happen with blue cross however i got on the phone with blue cross and made them 3 way in the company and i got it all straightened out them when the insurace company was seeing what i was going through. I also treated to get a lawyer since this is a medication covered by the insurance and that me not recieving it is putting mylife and my unborn shild life at risk the problem was then fixed in 2hrs

Viktoria - August 2nd, 2007 2:12 AM

We had to pay 5800.00 for a 30 day supply.
Thankfully we are going to a different drug, because I'm about ready to have my baby.
We have a box left if you need some.

nmccoy - August 2nd, 2007 8:03 PM

I am 6 weeks pregnant and was put on Lovenox injections a couple weeks ago. I have to do the shot once a day, take a baby asprin, and extra Folate. My husband and I are concerned about the air bubble that is in the pre-filled shots. It hurts badly, and we are worried that we might go into a vein on accident. I am scared. Any help would be great.
Nichole
