Hello All! New member here in the home stretch of my 8th pregnancy (28 wks). I already have two healthy baby boys ages 4 and 2 and h/o 6 miscarrages. I was diagnosed with MTHFR after I found out I was expecting my third child. My doc has put me on Lovenox 40mg and I will be induced at 37 wks. I have been on the shots (1/day) for about a month now, but I am really bruised and sore. I give them in my abdomen two inches below my belly button on either my left or right side and alternate every other day. Is there any other place I can give them? Also I have 3 months worth of a prescription (expiration date 02/08) that I will no longer need. I know this medication is extremely expensive so if anyone is in need you can email me at brobz329@yahoo.com. For anyone who has been unsucessful thus far in getting pregnant I say this: I had 4 miscarriages (1 in my second trimester) before I had my first son in 2003, another baby lost at 12 wks in 2004, then my second son was born in 2005, and now my third due May 31st 2007. I know sometimes it feels hopeless but just keep your faith and never give up! God bless you all and I wish you much success.

Hi all, I went to the dr this morning for my 22 week apt. everything is going great my baby has a great heart beat! I have an u/s tomorrow and I will let you know how that goes tomorrow. I made a list of things that princessesb said happened to her and her baby. My dr said she really didn’t give enough info to know why it happened but it sounds like HIT syndrome. So you can Google it and do some reading if anyone would like to. Basically it is a rare allergic reaction to heparin. I hope this puts some of our fears to rest.

Hi,
I have 3 kids, 16,14 and 3. I have MTFR, ASP and LUPUS. Within the last 14 months I have miscarried 5 times. I wasnt diagnosed with all this crap until the 3d loss. I am now pregnant for the 6th time. I began 60mg lovenox and 81 mg asprin, 2mg folic acid, b6, b12 and prenatals February 20th. I was pregnant then, and did not know yet.I lost that one on March 5th. I got pregnant REALLY FAST this time, not planned. I am scared,I have lost all 5 during implantation of the embryo. I am barley 3 weeks along. Just wondering if anyone has been down this road...

Hi K,

Are you being seen by an RE? And have you had your progesterone checked? I invite you to go to the miscarrigae form here on shared journey, you will get alot of good information.

I have had over 10 m/cs and I tryed to conceive this month for the first time since 08/06, which was my last m/c. This is the first time I am using progesterone, it enhances the endometrial lining of the uterus to accept and sustain the implantation and growth of the developing fetus. I hope this little bit of information helps, feel free to write back...take care..Tiffany~~~

serendipityhs - March 29th, 2007 12:53 PM

Hi Tiffany,
Sorry you have had such awful luck! I understand. I am not sure What RE means, so I dont know if I see one. I do have a Hematologist, Immunologist, highrisk OB and my delivering OB.
I had been taking Progesterone with the last couple of m/c, but it did not work, and when I found out about the lupus, the MD's took me off because of the risk of clots.
Its nerve racking. You know what I mean? Every twing I get I start FREAKIN! AHHH So, I just keep praying. I know I am just messing with my mind, but I bought an outfit for a newborn...I am trying to be positive, hoping that may help. Do I sound crazy? Probably : )

Hey K,

An RE is a Reproductive Endocrinologist, and usually once you've had 3 more consecutive m/cs that is who you need to see. What form of progesterone were you taking? When I was being seen by an high risk obgyn I was told that I had APS, I was taking lovenox 1x a day 60mg, 81 mg of aspirin, folic acid,b-6,b-12 and prenatal pills and needless to say I still had a m/c.

NO YOU DO NOT SOUND CRAZY! Everytime I'm p/g I'm scared to wipe when I go to the bathroom thinking I'm going to see blood, unless a person has been through what we have, they have no clue! I also have a few baby things tucked away, no one knows I have them. I don't want anyone thinking I'm crazy! I do as you do, I just keep praying and asking the Lord to bless us with the desires of our heart. My Dh and I (DH means Dear husband) get on our knees and pray together every night together.

If you are not sure of all the abbreviations, look at the top right of the page and you will see abbreviations and it will make it alot easier for you to understand when you read post! I wonder if your on a stong enough dose of the lovenox? I see we were on the same dose, I have read where alot of women take it 2 x a day, have you ever been put on Heprin? after two m/cs while being on the lovenox I was switched to heprin, but I never started taking it because they found out I did'nt suffer from a clotting disorder. So now I have just put it in Gods hands, alot of times I can't understand why things happen, but I do feel that everything happens for a reason, good or bad! Hope to hear back from you soon...Tiffany~~~

Hi, Thank you for writing back so fast..it helps. I did see an RE, however, the cost was so outrageous,we couldnt do it. The man wanted to redo ALL tests, even with my diagnoseses. So, we have been winging it. We know what is happening, its just a matter of it working. I guess as you said it is in gods hands. I dont remember off hand what pergesterone I was on, I know it was a vaginal insert twice a day. MAN I WAS MOODY!! : )
I am afraid to step foot back in the OB's office, because everytime ido, I m/c. I know its nothing the yare doing, its all in my head! Anyway...That my story : ) Thank you for listening, it makes me feel better.

Went to our final growth scan today at the middle of the 36th week. Our baby is a little on the small side. She weights 4lbs 14 oz. So they say she's in the 8 percentile for babies at that point. We got a little worried about this but my wife doesn't have high blood pressure and the blood flow in the umbilicle chord was normal. They will be testing her for chord blood flow now 1 time a week on top of the 2 weekly non-stress tests. If they see any drop in flow they will have her deliver immediately. I'm cautiously optimistic though since it all might wind up bein that our baby is simply little. Still tentions are high but nothing to do really now but stay vigilant and keep on top of anything that changes.

We started our first shots of Heparin today. Good news! It stings far far less. The needle is a bit bigger but my wife says the tradeoff is welcomed to the burning of the Lovenox. Still I hope our little one is just in fact little and nothing else is wrong.

serendipityhs - March 29th, 2007 6:19 PM

Hi, I had 2 healthy kids befor e the problems set in with the 3d, I had the same issues with 36weeks the weight was 4lbs for my son. at the time, I wasnt on anything except a wish and a prayer, no one knew I had all these problems.
The positive thing here is that she is 36 weeks, and that is on the cusp of normal delivery time. So, remember, even if the baby is delivered early, chances are WONDERFUL that there wont be any problems with your kiddo. My son was delivered at 37 weeks, because my water broke. He was only 5lbs1oz. He was tiny, but an incredible fighter. He had a little trouble breathing for about an hour, but was fine after that. By the time I was out of recovery he was in my arms breast feeding : )
Keep the faith...The odds are ALL ON YOUR SIDE : )

Hey Krista,

I'm glad that you found this website, you will have so much support here all the ladies are wonderful, positive and helpful. Your right RE's can be very expensive, my RE did redo some of my blood work just to be sure, but other test I had like the dye test, and it was one more that he did'nt redo. Are you still taking the Lovenox? All I can say is just try not to worry. Pray and believe for the best :).

I am now in the 2ww praying for a BFP, and not only that believing if I am p/g I will be able to carry the baby for the full 40 weeks, as I am praying for you also. How far do you usually get before you m/c? As soon as I reach between 5-6 weeks, it's like my cycle just comes much heavier then normal, but I do full extremly heavy it's sad. Oh another I'm going to do different when or if I'm p/g is, I am not going to have sex! I knew a lady that had a few m/cs and even lost a baby a 5 months, and with her last p/g she was told by her Dr not to have sex for nine months, she did'nt and she has a beautiful baby boy! I can remember sometimes spotting after sex when I was p/g, Dh and I have all ready agreed, once we are p/g we will not have sex! I have also lost a baby 5 months and 5 1/2 months, so talk about being worried! I am also going to get a cerclogy??(that's probably spelled wrong) when they sew up your cervix, that when I am able to make it to at least 11 weeks.

Well Krista, I won't bore you, when you need someone to talk to I'm here for you...Tiffany~~~

serendipityhs - March 29th, 2007 8:30 PM

Tiffany,
You have had a hard time, I am so sorry. My worst fear is loosing the baby later in the pregnancy. I am terrified. I decided NO SEX while pg 2 pgs ago.
I am still on60mg Lovenox 1 QD. Plus all the vitamens and RX folic acid. I have been taking it for 2 months now. I got pg really fast this time. I just mc March 5th. So I am scared, but, I will just carry on, really, what else can you do??? Nada.
I really thank you for the prayers. I too will say a prayer for you, I pray you get pregnant and are fat and happy until at least 39 weeks!! Then hold your baby. Every mom deserves this. I feel so selfish for whineing over my issues because I have 3 healthy children. the pain and sorrow are still here though.

Hey ladies and Gidd,

I'm now in week 26, going for weekly biophysical profiles and the baby looks great! It's a girl and they estimated today that she is already at 2 pounds 10 ounces. I will be induced at week 38 and put on Heparin at week 36. I have limited bruising and bleeding at the injection site still, but nothing too major.
