aefthimiadis,

i hear what your saying , i guess i just dont trust those other ways but im gonna have to learn to. well i have to say the overall feeling is relief that i know what happend and that i can finally close this chapter in my life, ill never forget it either, but at least i can try to accept it and look to the future. my first step is to work on myself and my health, i could stand to lose 90lbs and thats what im planning on doing and then maybe after that we'll see about ttc. thanks for all your help! ill check in again when i meet with the hematologist and get some more info.

I HAVE A QUESTION, I AM 11 WEEKS PREGNANT AND AFTER MY LAST PREGNANCY I HAD A BLOOD CLOT IN MY PELVIC AND DURING THE PREGNANCY I KEPT TELLING THEM THAT MY LEG WAS GIVING OUT AND I WAS FALLING DOWN THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING THEN 1 1/2 WEEKS AFTER THE BABY WAS BORN I HAD A DREADFUL ACHE IN MY LEG WENT INTO THE HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK FOR THE CLOT AND WAS ON COUMADIN FOR 6 MONTHS. THEY SAID NOT TO GET PREGNANT AGAIN WELL OOPS! AND ANYWAYS THEY SENT ME TO A HIGH RISK DOCTOR FOR THE PRECAUTION NOT TO MENTION MY NAUSEA AND VOMITING IS INSANELY BAD. THEY PUT ME ON LOVENOX 40MG A DAY, VITAMIN B6, OSCAL, FLINSTONE VITAMINS WITH IRON AND UNISOM TO HELP ME SLEEP. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THAT STUFF.IS IT OK TO BE TAKING ALL THAT . ALSO I'VE BEEN GIVING MYSELF THE LOVENOX SHOTS AND I HAD A BAD HEADACHE AND TOOK A TYLENOL ABOUT 1 1/2 HOURS BEFORE THE SHOT SO I WHEN I TOOK THE SHOT IT HURT LIKE USUAL BUT WHEN I PULLED THE NEEDLE OUT IT BLED. WHAT CAUSED THAT? ANSWERS PLEASE!

I wouldn't worry about bleeding a little after your injection. It happens to me sometimes too. I just wipe it off w/alcohol swab. If it's bleeding profussly then thats a problem.

I can tell in your questions that you are focusing too much on every little thing. The best advice my friend gave me is to live life as usual and don't be a slave to your fears. It will be best for your AND your baby. Deep breaths and faith. This coming from someone who's been thru several m/c.

I wish you well...

Yes I too felt relieved even though I will never forget my two babies......not a day goes by that I do not think about it...but I have come a long way...I feel stronger now..

Anyway, that is great you should take care of yourself and try to be as strong as possible, physically and mentally....

My hematologist suggested yoga I have been practicing 4-5 weeks what a relief...it has helped me so much....you should look into some type of exercise program. I wish you the best of luck in your journey and know that you are not alone.

Hi. I posted my situation a few days ago. But today I went in to the dr and saw the heartbeat again and they said everythign looks good on the ultrasound.. Baby is measuring what it should 6 weeks 3 days... heart rate is good 120, but then when the blood work comes back my hcg has only gone up from 5912 on monday to 6664 today (friday) They are telling me to try to not read into the numbers, but everything I am reading says that they need to double at least every 72 hours. Has anyone had any experience will this situation and everything been okay? What do you think? =

I HATE when they do those tests! My regular OB would do those all the time in previous pregnancies and all it causes is worry. :o

In this pregnancy I'm going to a Materal Fetal Specialist and they don't bother w/thoses tests. As long as you have a heart beat your pregnancy is fine. Do as you Dr. says and don't read into it. Ask if it is absolutley necessary to do those, they just cause worry.

Deep breaths and faith.

My numbers never doubled they went up about 60% every three days. I was scared all the time because everything I read said the numbers should doubled every two days. But I am 14w 2ds now and everything is going great. Hang in there and just keep doing your shots. Once you’re past 10w the numbers all level off or go down anyways. I hope your situation turns out like mine.

hi everyone, i started taking my lovenox shots on wednesday after a positive pregnancy test. reading everyone's posts really helped! they are a pain, but really not so bad, so thanks to everyone for their inpiration! this morning's shot is itchy, has anyone had that before?

veroki - February 3rd, 2007 5:01 PM

ok so the very thing that i feared happening HAPPEND! this is going to be TMI but i was concerned about not being able to take oral contraceptives and only relying on a condom, well guess what broke today?! i am having an anxiety attack because im not ready to ttc and if we do im going to be so scared. now im going to have to be worried the whole month about it. sorry i just needed to vent........

Jean42506 - February 3rd, 2007 10:17 PM

Gretel-
Don't worry about the bleeding. We have tons of little blood capillaries underneath our skin, sometimes when you give the shot it hits one and will bleed. I've had a couple of my shots bleed for several hours, even had the doctor look at one of them and she said not to worry.

Veroki-
I'm the first one in my family to actually have a diagnosis of my clotting disorder, however after my diagnosis, we got a lot of explanations. My mother had 2 miscarriages and a set of low birth weight twins ( only one survived). My sister lost both twins whom where born premature, had a miscarriage, and developed preeclampsia with two of her three successful pregnancies. They are both done having babies now so haven't been tested but my maternal fetal specialist says that most likely they both have the same clotting disorder that I have. We just look at it this way...... at least I was fortunate enough to have the means to do tests and discover something that we can now pass the knowledge on to future generations so that at least (God willing) my daughters and nieces won't have to suffer the same loss that we have had to experience. There's always a silver lining.....

Jean,

its so true what your saying, im glad to know what happend and now i know if i ever have a daughter someday that i can have her tested so that she never has to go through the terrible pain of losing a child.

trust me if i do end up with a positive pregnancy test next month i will be happy, but i will always have that fear in my heart because of what ive gone through, i dont think that ever goes away not matter how many sucessful pregnancies i go on to have.

i just cant believe that our condom broke, i mean ive heard about that happening but never had it happen to me. :-\ its just surreal............... well i handle whatever comes, just a little nervous right now.

I am really sorry for your loss, I too experienced a similar situation. Everything was going fine and at 20wks on an accidental visit 7/26/06 no heart beat was heard. It was the most devasting experience i have ever endured. The next few months were hard, cause I constantly thought about my little girl and blamed myself. But each month gets better. You will never forget your son but better days are coming. After reading this now i wonder if maybe my doctor just failed to perform the necessary testing for the factor 5, which they determined was the reasoning for my fetal demise. Yes I agree most of the women found out while pregnant they had clotting disorders then were started on coagulants.

Well here is where it gets better although very, very afraid, anxious and even wanting to quit working during this period to eliminate unnecessary stress - I found out on 1/22/07. I am 6wks along and praying very hard. I have been started on asa 81mg and prenatal vitamins. I returun to the OB this week and should be starting Lovenox at that time.

Better days are coming................

You definately need to change your DR, my Dr was very caring, and empathetic thru-out my ordeal. Iwouldn't trade her, She called me when the results came in, spoke to me at length, I saw her the next day in the office, and she explained again to both myself and husband. What showed true concern was her office is very busy, once i signed it at the desk the nurse took me in immediately, she understood how hard it would have been for me to sit in the waiting room with all those pregnant women. Your dr only made your devastation worst. Change as quickly as you can, your records can be transfered to a new MD.

Better days are coming................Good Luck

Hello all!! I hope everone is doing well. As for me; I just got out the hospital after a 9 day stay. I went in for a scheduled nst (non-stress test) and it showed i was having contractions (only 29 weeks at the time) so they gave me some pills and they didn't stop the contractions so they had to admit me. I was given magnesium (which sucks, hope i never have to take it again) and finally 3 days later the contractions stopped. well i was supposed to go home 2 days later but the babies heartrate had dropped for longer than 5 minutes, so i had to stay longer. The next night the babies heartrate dropped again, so i was there 2 more days. Luckily everything is fine with me and the baby and my due (induction) date is still unknown, but i am 31 weeks now. Not too much longer!!!!!

Well God bless everyone and take care!

Donovansmommy,

I am SO sorry you've had to endure this. You are SUCH a good Mommy to go through all of this and still sound so chipper. I'm sure this has been a very difficult experience for you, and I'm sorry you've had to go through this.

I am REALLY glad that everything is okay with you and Baby. I'm glad to hear a good report, though I'm sure it was a very rough 9 days. 9 days in a hospital is not fun, especially when you're going through such a time.

I wish you a very non-eventful 8 weeks and hope to hear the good news of your happy, healthy delivery in April!!

Thanks for the update! Keep us posted!!

OK, I am about 7 weeks and have been taking lovenox for about three weeks now. The other day I went with my husband walking to check some traps he has. I was wearing my jeans which are getting a little tight. When I got back I noticed that my stomach had bleed where I have been doing the shots. Has anyone had this happen. Do I need bigger clothes? Well I know I need bigger clothes but ones that won't rub those spots. I have an appt for a sono thurs and one with my dr on fri. Do I need to bother telling him about this? Am I just worried for nothing?

HeatherMak - February 5th, 2007 10:36 AM

Elvira,

That is totally normal. I started wearing full-panel maternity pants the day after I started my shots because my jeans would press on the injection sites and they would bleed and it HURT!!

So, to be safe, bring it up with your doc on Friday, but try the full-panel pants. JCPenney always had a nice selection of full-panel jeans that fit nicely and didn't break the bank! You will be SO much happier with these new britches!!!

Keep us posted...CONGRATULATIONS!!

Thanks Heather!
That makes me feel better. I am going after school to get some new pants! (I am a teacher, not in school) anyway it is sooooo nice to have people who will answer all my silly questions!
Thanks!
