Hi Doctor. I began my first stim shot friday 1/12/06 for an IUI cycle. The diagnosis is female factor unexplained infertility. My Testosterone test came back normal, E2 15, FSH8. I am 150 IU of Follistim and return back to the RE for U/S and B/W tuesday. My question is what is our chances of this working? My first RE wanted us to go staight to IVF so we got a second opinion at a larger more known facility and they suggested IUI. Statistically speaking, what is the success rate and does it go up w/ more then one try?

THANKS

Its really impossible to tell what your personal chances are. There is a geat deal of variation in the success rate of IUI and success depends on a great number of factors. In an ideal situation, 15-20% pregnancy per cycle is what you can expect.
