Hi Dr. Smith,

I appreciate your expertise. Could you tell me whether the length of storage time (frozen) poses any threat to frozen embryos? Is there a length of time after which successful thawing (for FET) is effected?

Thanks.

Nope. It doesn't appear to have any negative effect - as long as they remain frozen. Embryos are stored in liquid nitrogen (-196 degrees centigrade). At the molecular level, there's not much going on at that temperature. I think the longest time an embryo has been frozen and resulted in a successful pregnancy was 12 years. No worries.
