Hello, Your doctor probably picked this protocol because of your FSH (approaching or over 10?) and/or because of a low # of ovarian follicles at baseline (4 or fewer per ovary). It can be a successful protocol if used correctly. LH addition is not needed because the patient's endogenous LH (her own) is not suppressed as it is with the usual Long Lupron down Regulation protocol. In fact, some people are afraid of too much LH at the beginning of the cycle - but there is no concensus on this. It's OK to use this protocol to start . The worse case scenario is that there is too much of a response (unexpected) and the cycle is cancelled. This is, however, unlikely. Good luck. Dr. Jane
