There are so many factors that come into play during each individual cycle, it is impossible to accurately predict a patient's chance of success beyond a rough guess based on their age and the "quality" of the embryos transferred. Biology and medicine are not exact sciences. These areas of science deal in probabilities, not hard facts (like, say, physics or chemistry). Doctors walk the fine line between being discouraging, encouraging and being overly optimistic. That's the best we can do. |
